That's not the only reason... Sadowskys sound different than a Fender .. Like a fender on steroids. .. I loved mine but sold all of them off this year.. For parts they cost $$$$$$ and only keep go up. BUT it is what the market will bear..
Like my manager used to say...Well he still says it. 'It's Not What You Are Worth.. It's What You Negotiate" Very true..
Sadowskys are great basses and record really well They gig well too

Kirk I don't see how the parts thing is relevant in a reply to me. I don't even own a lull or sadowsky. I am a NYC Italian who had friends who died during 9/11 and I know many people who were there when the buildings collapsed and survived. I'm not sure why any of this is on his head stock but whatever.

Edit - I would add my extremist comment is related to the North American non resident alien and your suggestion to google. The all reference extremists. But it also says that the group is considered by the fbi to be domestic terrorists. I really dont care if that's his view or yours. I just think it absolutely ridiculous to put this stuff on a headstock.

Well if you LOOK there is MORE than the 911 thing. There are clues.. Like i said it is a PUZZLE..
But you have to be a sleuth to figure out the puzzle ...
The 911 memorial is just a side note.
You have to be real slick to figure it out.

I don't care. I don't care if he thinks the sovereign citizen movement was responsible for 9/11. I don't care if he considers himself part of the movement. If he wasted even 5 minutes putting that garbage on his basses it was to much.

Maybe I'm alone in my opinion but I'd guess not.

That is NOT what I is saying at all. As far as i know, He doesn't consider himself a part of any movement at all. Quite the contrary.

Now for those asking why or what it is ??? In computers programming there are tidbits that can be put in code called Easter Eggs. Apple just released one. DON'T Turn your iphone back to 1970. You will find the easter egg but you will turn your phone into a brick according to Apple press release last week..

On the Alleva there is an easter egg.. It's actually a fun puzzle to solve if you wanted to. If you dont want it on your bass , then order it without it .
Nothing wrong with that at all.

Jimmy's cousin is Nicolas Cage..He got the idea from the Nick movie ... "National Treasure". This is sort of like that.

Follow one path to the next it take you to another. sort of easter egg.. Its not what you think.No one has gotten it yet. And i heard there is a prize

But there is no reason to be so so Hostile towards me! :smug:

Im an Australian - so I have no real link to what happened in NY on 9/11. But those events changed the world - so it has impacted everyone in a way to some degree. I ordered a bass from Jimmy and it had a similar stamp on the back of the headstock - whilst it doesn't mean anything to me personally - I think its great because it just shows how much of himself he puts into his work. I like the political statement he makes - its like a middle finger at the government. My bass was made by one guy - and it shows. It's clear some people don't like talking about politics - but I think its very important. Important things shouldn't be pushed aside - they should be put under the microscope. To quote Jack Kerouac: "The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn like a fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars".

Personally - I'm glad there are still some "mad ones" out there. I'm glad that people like Jimmy (and all the other instrument makers) are out there and that Wal Mart isn't the only place where you can buy instruments.

That's beautiful, but it's not political. Unless someone is some sort of Islamic terrorist or something who doesn't mourn the victims of 9/11, especially citizens of NYC. The specific bass I referenced had a specific reference to a certain floor in one of the Twin Towers which, according to the conspiracy, had explosives planted in it , a inside job, that's a little different than your example wouldn't you think? But it's cool, it's Jimmys' company and he can put whatever he wants on his basses, and I'm sure they are fantastic and I would love to play one someday. Jim Edit:, maybe there is a reference to that in your example now that I see it on a larger screen. Oh well, conspiracy theories make life more exciting I guess, reality can be too mundane sometimes. In computer programing .. If a programer chooses to do so, he or she will put an"easter egg" in the code. It's a hidden treat waiting to be found... It's a geeky thing..
Some users will find the easter egg by chance or by searching due to a rumor ... They will find an unknown treat in the program. But they have to solve the PUZZLE first.

Jimmy's little laser thing is an easter egg.. and NOT what some may think that it is.
The easter egg is NOT so obvious on the surface and it sets up some detours and diversions. Which has clearly worked as i posted earlier. . You have to dig deep. It is a trail of clues. Its fun PUZZLE to solve.. But it takes Time. Its just a fun Geek thing..
Two people know the answer to it .. I'm not one of them.. And it Morphs.
What is on the surface is NOT what it is. Many will never solve it. I heard there is a prize though.
Anyway . if one didn't want the clues? inscribed. they can order a bass without it.
So its just a fun thing.. Happy Hunting.. I've gotten to step 5 already

I swear someday I'm going to drive down to SoCal, take my '65 jazz with me, stop at the local In&Out, bring a couple burgers and shakes with me and just spend an afternoon at his shop, I'm sure it would be very interesting on a lot of different levels:thumbsup: Jim

Jimmy explained most of it in parts the last 2 times I was down.....IMO its interesting and challenges some fundamental ideas we live by. I'm in the "mojo" camp and ask for everything he wants to include on it. Unless I find something really offensive, I want the total builder experience.
