Club Alleva-Coppolo (Part 21)

Jimmy is one guy doing the whole thing there at the shop. Making bodies, making necks . winding pickups, magnetizing them. making pickguard and pickup covers, overseeing the bridges being made next door in the metal shop, Not including the final assembly, set up, nut cuts and wiring and packing up to ship.. It may be sad to say but Email may be low on his list of priorities right now..

I totally get this!!! :)

Understandable. But.... would be nice to get updates. . Especially considering it ain't an impulse buy nor a budget model .
I'm sure it'll be superb tho.. my 06 EUT5 (that I bought 2nd hand, locally - lucky! ) is STILL the bass that ticks ALL my boxes. It never fails to impress.

I do agree buyer's pov and also understand Jimmy's one man shop operation...Since I knew Jimmy can't really take pic or report on the build because of his priority, so I just leave it that way. I received 5 shop basses and 1 personal bass without any update or anything before I was told they are ready to ship, but the key is they are all SUPERB when I open the case and play it.. Jimmy nailed all the builds. No worries pal! Although without update is kinda tough for a custom build and wait.. :P Hang in there~

Just saw on your IG this bass a few days ago...stunning!
The funny thing is that i do really like this old school way to approach the business! Builder like him or Carl, they seem to don’t care too much about social or promoting themselfs, they do their thing, don’t talk too much...you can really feel the passion and total commitment...no distractions

Yeah, I love going to Jimmy's shop, and whenever I did I was reminded of how much he has to do in terms of production as a one-man operation. I used to make sure to take pictures myself between lending him a hand on different tasks, because the man has to be focused on production 100% of the time. If I were still in California I'd be happy to take requests on updates for orders, but unfortunately I'm not so close anymore! Sometimes we just need to take a deep breath because that's all we can do... it's worth it when it's done :)

Ehi guys, while im waiting...do you know more about the AC bridge? i thought he was using standard hipshots or others, but if i get it well he's building his own bridges...right? how they differs from others?
His bridge is a bent stainless bridge with threaded saddles and quick release. It's heavy enough for the quick release to be nice and stable, but active enough to achieve a vintage attack/decay shape when you play. You can order with a Hipshot if you want still, and I think it works particularly well with lightweight LMs to achieve more of the sustain and natural compression of a heavier body.

Where can I get those white knobs?! All I have been able to find is cream white. I'm looking for white white Jazz bass knobs.

Do you know George?

I've found them a couple of times, but I can't exactly recall where. AllParts maybe. The small knobs are more difficult, they're effects pedal knobs. If I remember, I'll post!

No published price list, from my understanding you have to email jimmy directly for a quote if he’s still taking orders directly, or contact one of the listed dealers for a price.

I want an extra set from Jimmy but Jimmy told me he don't have the exact knobs set anymore.. But I managed to get few more sets from my friends, perhaps I can sell them once I got them. :p Cheers.
