Gotcha! The RA is coming next week...........the LM is coming........later
Thanks Dan! It's a great color. I'm sure you would dig it.Good choice Bernie. I think it's going to look great!
I was thinking Ice Blue for my next Alleva too.
But, I have a LONG time to decide.
Dan
Nice, good choice, if I was aware of the whole blocks and binding thing......
So,Ice tea burst?
Looks like this..... I guess the edges are dark in these photos it shoud never imply black just dark brown. I think the top horn in the first pic is clearer.

Is that the actual body of the bass you're thinking about?
I dig that color! Would it be with a tort guard?
Sounds nice!Yes, the neck is still out, Jimmy's not sure if it has vintage tint.
Thanks!,,, If I go guard, yes, tort. I'm going to hold of at first though. Maybe telecaster knobs?.
Aj
Nice. I'm certainly anxious to see how this one turns out.Waiting on the neck,,couple of weeks.

Well I have a change to announce for my bass. The color is changing from Three Tone Burst to Ice Blue Metallic.
It's kind of a long story how it happened but I know I'll be happy with this color. It's actually the color I originally was going to go with before I ordered Three Tone Burst. As you guys know, I'm getting blocks and binding and I think this color will jive with those perfectly. It will also have a Parchment guard and gain a matching headstock. Should be a killin' combo.
Now before anyone thinks I changed this because I wasn't going to be happy with Three Tone Burst, stop right now!I changed because I think the color will fit this bass better the way it's configured. I will have a bass from Jimmy with Three Tone Burst and I'm 99% sure it will be a KBP-5. Maybe with Dalbergia too... If he has any left that is!
This is a pic Aj posted when he was waiting on his LG5. Mine will look like this but with Blocks and Binding. I've always loved this picture. It really shows how striking this color is.
Hey, same color as mineAre you getting Nitro? I would have sprung for the blocks and binding, but I couldn't do that and Nitro. I kinda had to put a price cap on myself
Yours will rock!
Gotta get that Pearloid PG to go with the blocks, man...........
This thread is absolutely killin' me.
Survey: How many of you are completely happy with the poly finish vs. the nitro ? Do you have second thoughts or regrets getting poly?
The nitro apparently has more true-tone as the wood dries and the finish shrinks/cracks/chips. I don't know if my ear would be good enough to tell and difference. So basically it's True Tone over your interpretation of aesthetics. Some love the new look while other like the vintage look as the nitro ages and does it's thing.
I've already pm'd a few of you about this so feel free to comment or not. I also talked with Jimmy a bit yesterday for the first time. Awesome Guy for sure.
My interest is a 4 string standard jazz.
Rosewood board w/dots.
Alder body.
(not sure about finish color or type)
Tort P/G
AC pickups
AC 2-band
AC passive tc
Chrome hardware
vol/vol/ptc/eq/eq no plate
I would like the Hipshot B bridge, but Jimmy dosen't offer it in a 4 string. I'd have to go with a bent plate or Badass type.
Anyway, I'm just thinking about it and want to learn more first.
TIA
