I usually don't like Nitro on a neck. I have had most of my basses necks sanded even if they were a poly finish. The neck on the AC is exquisite! I play mine quite a bit and you can tell that the Nitro is getting thinner even by looking at the way it is getting lighter in color in the main playing areas of the neck. This is a good thing to me as there is a symmetry to the wear that is very even and you can't feel any bumps or heavier spray areas like you can on some basses. I can honestly say that the Nitro job on this bass is probably the best I have ever seen on any bass....PERIOD. On the body the finish is just beginning to get that "smooth" feeling that I love where my right wrist and lower forearm rest on the bass. VERY nice and VERY smooth feeling! I have gotten a couple of dings in the finish and I normally freak out when it happens but with this one it just feels normal. I know it is an expensive bass and some might flinch but I am actually looking forward to seeing how this one looks in a few years! I have said it before, THIS is the bass I want to be buried with. I don't have a single bad thing to say about it! It plays like a dream and feels superb. The neck is absolutely awesome and the Dalbergia is worth every penny! The body is well balanced, the pre sounds incredible and I get compliments on the way it looks when people see it and they go nuts after they hear it. I would say overall it may be the best bass I have ever owned! Certainly in the top 2 or 3 but for the life of me I can't think of a single one I'd rather have or play over this one! That's what I wanna hear! I too have the neck on my trusty ol' Fender P sanded. I prefer that feel. Glad to hear the Nitro gets approval from a guy that prefers a worn-in feel.

Your bass is an incredible one. No doubt about it. I would like to have an AC 4 some day and one would be hard pressed not to get one just like yours! I'm glad I went with the Nitro Burst and Nitro neck on my LG5. I really think I'm gonna love it!

Thanks! I talked to Jimmy a LOT about the Nitro neck and in the end he asked me to trust him and I am really happy I did. I had chosen a different color originally and Jimmy told me that the 3TS he was getting was amazing. I still was not sold until he mentioned that the guy that was spraying the Nitro was a retired Fender guy who had been with Fender for over 50 years! I figured if anybody could do a modern 3TS that had that older vintage look this would be the guy! I have to say that the bevelled pickguard was not my idea and I was a little apprehensive about that to but it is off the chain...I think it adds so much to the overall pop of the bass without really pulling the bass too far from that vintage vibe. The neck actually has that smooth feeling that you get after you have played a shaved neck for a while. The guy who sprayed it definitely has it down to a science. Not too heavy and perfectly even coating all the way up and down. I looked for overspray and bulging when I first got it and could not find a thing. Time just seems to make this bass better overall. I highly recommend this combo to anyone who is even remotely on the fence about finishes. It is a classic look and it feels and sounds absolutely amazing!

I can't wait to check mine out for myself! Jimmy's 3TB is the best out there IMO. I haven't seen anyone doing one that looks better.

I would love to have a Dalbergia board. After I receive my LG5, I have to address my amp situation than purchase some other things that I've been holding out on. Once I'm ready to start another Alleva Coppolo, I fear Jimmy may not have any Dalbergia left. :(

I agree with Tom.. I think the Nitro 3TB is the best that i have ever seen ,, and looks like the way they did 40 years ago coming from the factory..
that is one color that i need to have for my Alleva Collection.... just need the $$ now...

Oh I'm just funnin' more than anything! :D

I've really dug Aj's LG5 since the first time I've seen it. It also reminds me of my dearly departed Nordy that was the same color. Plus it having the Dalbergia board gives it an extra cool factor.

You're right. My LG5 will be great! Every time I see a brown truck go by, I think what it'll be like when mine is delivered. :) Gonna be a great day.

wow you know i dont know why he doesn't have the cab covered.. could have been a rental.. i dont know.. i need to find out if i can ..
yeah i ha my cabs tilted like that on a tour i did.. the set carpenters made a small cradle though that the cabs lied in.. .. it was so much easier to hear the cone of the speakers like that too..

I spoke with Jimmy about a second bass in December, about two weeks after I got my LG5. I secured a spot after NAMM and finalized the order in early February. I emailed him today and he had just finished crowning the frets so it looks like he'll ship on Friday. I should have it in time for my next gig on 5/10.
