Played mine again at rehearsal last night. Everything flat, rolling back the neck pick from time to time. Results = AWESOME. I love this instrument. Played a few songs with a pick, loved that tone too

I had been gassing for an AC and just bought this one off TB'er NickyBass...I am a total bass "slut" and I love this thing...I have always dug P's, but never found one that played or sounded this good...total vintage heaven tone wise..

The color is a little much for me, but am getting used to it...not like there are alot of used KBP4's floating around so I had to get it...

I was going to come in here and seek help on resisting the urge to buy a KBP5 after buying my LG5. Then I realized that everyone has pretty much failed at that and I'm doomed to follow in your foot steps.

I just need to try to think up what I would want color wise...

Look at it this way Bernie. . . if you want this option on an Alleva-Coppolo you pay this minor upcharge. If you want it on a Fender, you have to shell out between $10,000 and $35,000, and you get one less string!

Hey Jimmy, what strings come stock on the LG-5 now? I need to get some spare sets

I use either Alleva-Coppolo strings or whatever D'Addario strings that I may still have left from the NYC shop. Check the ball ends, if they are gold they are my strings if they are colored then they are D'Addario.

Dont forget there are different types of Loctite with different strengths..
I used the PURPLE Loctite on my Bent Plate.. So i can makes changes when needed without too much of a hassle.



I have even used bees wax on the threads at times and it worked great for years.

Loctite's threadlocker products come in different strength grades, to suit the particular application.

Blue Removable No. 242, 243, 246, 248, 2432 & 2440 - Used for things you may want to unscrew with minimal hassle. It cures into a brittle, glassy bond that takes one good twist to break, but removes cleanly after that. Recommended for use with valve covers, water pumps and oil pan bolts.

Red High-Strength No. 271, 262, 266, 268, 272, 277 & 2760 - Used on things that you don't want to take apart for a long time. It requires heat from a torch or iron (to 250° C) to loosen its grip. It cures into a thicker, sticky bond that holds up better against vibration and shocks. It is typically used in mechanical applications such as nuts and bolts in cars, motorbikes, snowmobiles, and watercraft.

Green - penetrating grade No. 220(blue), 290 & 294 - Used for parts that have already been assembled. Green No. 290 is commonly used to bond a bearing to a shaft. Due to its low viscosity, capillary action wicks the solution between the shaft and the inner race of the bearing.

Purple - low strength grade No. 222MS & 222 - Used for set screws.

For Plastic threads - No. 425. - Used for small plastic threads.
