This Dart looks closer to what Jimmy was going for - also appropriate since it's a '73 which is right around the era of jazz the RA is modeled after:

I like it, but then again my first car was a 1969 Barracuda and I had two friends with Darts set up to race. One was a 1963 with a 413 wedge motor set up for bracket racing and the second was the ultimate sleeper. A Dart swinger that was close to the color of that bass. We dropped a 426 into it, from the side it looked like a car your grandma would drive.
If that bass had pearl blocks my bank account would be in trouble.

Putting it in the context of that car color actually makes me appreciate it a bit more. I can at least see what Jimmy was going for, and it makes sense. Still don't dig it much, but at least now I 'get it'
I think it would look killer with a dark rosewood bound and blocked board and a matching headstock...

No not yet Bro... I haven't talked to Jimmy in a couple weeks or so. I've been trying to leave him alone for the NAMM stuff.
But don't worry, I still plan on taking pics of the available ash blanks for you... Unless he's somehow picked and cut your body next time I stop in.
I know a couple pages back you guys were talking about an offset screwdriver to use for truss rod adjustment...
I found the perfect screwdriver @ a local tool supply store
It's the Klein V05 offset screwdriver It fits perfectly into the slot and doesn't go anywhere near the pickguard!!!
