You're probably right, but they also know how Jimmy took care of everything as well. Anyway, it's a chance to save about a grand, and a long wait on a brand new bass.

Looks like a great bass to me.:D

My perspective with Jimmy's basses is that he makes the greatest 5 string 34" scale old Fender basses out there bar none. But totally IMO when you get into the 4 strings there is a lot more competition out there and different builders to choose from at many different price points.

Agreed 100%

^ I had been contemplating ordering an LM5 for some time.....but...It wasn't many days after you posted a picture of that bass that I knew I had to have an LM5 with blocks and binding. I placed my order just about the time you took delivery.

Not wanting to be a complete copycat I decided to not get a natural body finish!

Hey Jason how is Dream Girls going?

I thought I'd suprise my wife and get her out of the house this weekend to see Dream Girls, I have orchestra seats for 2pm on Saturday the 12th....

Why don't you give us a run down.....

Cool man ... You'll enjoy it .. everybody who's come has raved about it.
I'm behind a curtain, so i can't see all of the amazing stuff that I'm told goes on ... I do know that there are 20 ft LED screens that enhance the background ... the costumes are killer ... the band gets tighter every night ... the singers are all impressive. I'm rocking my LG5 through an Aguilar DI with in-ear monitors, not to mention my wig & 3 jacket changes.
We close in NYC on Sat & open in Baltimore on Wed.

I'm guessing at times you are behind a transparent screen being that you have a wig and jackets? Please tell me they were able to dig up that giant afro from Airplane:eek:

Looking forward to it, never been to the Apollo and my wife and I haven't been out of the house together without the baby so this is our first big outing in a long time. If you hear a women on her cell phone checking in on her baby, that's most likely us!

So you are back to using your #0001 LG5 or a different one, is it sporting nickels, SS or flats?

Pete

Vic ... Long story short, no ... last I knew, Jimmy had that LM5. He helped me get a LG4 & after the first rehearsal it was clear that I had brought the wrong bass, so I had my wife overnight Bigg Redd to me & i shipped home the 4. Basically, I put EMG's in it to avoid hum since we're playing in all old theaters but they didn't sound full enough live AND the show has been re-orchestrated, with several of the tunes having notes below the E string.

Pete ... The band platform is wheeled out for 3 tunes and we're shown behind a metal mesh screen for another one or two. The wig is more like a conk, because they mostly show us during the 60's years.
I only own one 5 these days, LG5 #00001, Bigg Redd. She is sporting DR Nickel Low Riders & sounds amazing.

Bummer. Well, I hope Jimmy doesn't have too much trouble selling it... custom options that "personalize" an instrument like the 12th fret "big redd" inlay on that one can sometimes make a sale a lot more difficult to someone else. I'm sure it's a fantastic bass tho.

I hope it has already sold for him.
Like YCBass told me, he (and others) see the "bigg redd" inlay as the name of the bass and don't relate it to me.

UPDATE on the Mono Dual Bass Case:

I haven't had a chance to snap photos of it just yet but it fits my KBP5 and LG5 very nicely and it is very safe. The case is super light as well. It doesn't have a ton of additional storage though.

My undercover bag has a nice large front pocket that will hold a fairly large music book which I bring to most gigs or at least two fake books. You certainly do not have the space for that in the mono case so I will have to make other arrangements. I should note my undercover dual bag will not hold 2 5 string ACs comfortably...

In the small top pocket I can hold business cards, ear plugs and a stand light. In the larger front pocket it's got enough room for a few cables, a tuner and a set of strings. It could probably fit a small micro head like my EA doubler but there would be no room for anything else like cables. Most micro heads probably wouldn't fit though.

The most important thing is that I can bring two ACs to a gig, and as Ken had pointed out in the past, it's safe to stuff a Nitro finished bass in as well. I guess it's time I start to free myself from sheet music anyway!
