Man! Thanks for those incredible pics! They give incredible insight into how talented Jimmy is..Did you guys see the Alleva-Coppolo "Marcus" bass in the background?! Dosen't that drive you crazy:eek: ??!! And I must say, Bernie, that "Candy Apple Orange Juice Metallic" finish
is pretty hot! I likes........ might have a winner here....and by the way I officially SUBSCRIBE......

I Ken,
Paul had an Aguilar Preamp put in that bass..
If what i can remember..
It is Vol/Vol/Passive Tone/ Mid/ then Treb-Bass on the stack pot..

Im about 95% sure that is what it is... Jimmy and I were talking about that a few weeks ago...
I forgot which pot is the push/pull though..

I can email Paul and see what he says.. It may take a few days though

SUBSCRIBED! I can't wait to get my own AC! I talked to Jimmy a few weeks ago and was planning to go to New York and see him this month but took the family to the beach instead...I will most likely wait until October AES to make the trip now...I am considering either a Vintage White like Paul Turner's (with the Dalbergia Negra if thre is any left!!!) or something a little more out there LOL!...Looking forward to it!

Peace,

T

Great Post guys. Love this forum;
Love to show off mine. Love the A-C. I know his basses will take off.
I have the 70's placement pu and love it. To me its so 60's in alot of ways. Ain't that right KJUNG?
But I would not mind a P5 next on the list.

Love his Pre. Not as dramatic as my Sadowsky. I find on my Sadowsky after turning the tone controls passed the first 1/4 of a turn is unuseable for me anyway. On the A-C using Jimmy's pre, I can turn it all the way up and still have a usefull tone. Again to my ears. Maybe thats why some say its somewhat passive even in active. There is a difference between his active and passive and they are both good. I tried my bass, using just his pre to the amp, bypassing the amps pre and Jimmys is right on the money. Smooth, warm and enough bottom and top without sounding muddy in the lows or clacky ( Honky) in the highs. But in all honesty I have not tried his other pre's. But I like his so much i really don't the desire to try them.

Now I don't want to get in the middle of this;)
Ill be happy with any number. But a KBP5!!!!! Maybe you should get the first one.:D
Your 4 is amazing. Simply amazing. I have told you and others. It sounds no different than a good vintage P.
