Club Bebop, de Gier

Very nice! Which pickups does it have?
Per the man himself, Bare Knuckle, which looks to be a British brand. Assuming they haven’t been changed. They sound great, even if the B string is a bit huge sounding. I may mess with pickup heights, but I have a compressor on my pedal board, which helps :D

Somewhat resurrecting this zombie thread, but I got this one (barely) used a few months ago, and love it! Great neck, sounds excellent and looks killer! Haven’t gigged it yet, but had it to band practice several times… View attachment 5125364View attachment 5125365

My only complaint is watching the de Gier Facebook and InstaGram, all the BeBops are so pretty, I want one of every color :D

you ever looking to sell this one, hit me up

I agree. Very tempting...

Even better than the looks is the feel and sound of his instruments. I bought a 6 string from him with never having put my hands on a de Gier. He's the only person I could find that made a six string jazz with tight spacing. So it was a roll of the dice. His basses have far exceeded my expectations. I now also have a 5 string soulmate that I picked up from talkbass(another homerun. I put some thomastik flats on it and it's just unbelievable IMO) and i've ordered a 5 string Glen Gaddum that I'll get next year. Other than beater basses for when I have to play in rough, humid, hot/cold Florida weather I don't want to play anything other than a de Gier. It's a shame more people in the US aren't privy to his guitars. Top notch looks, feel, and sound. IMO.

I was aware of de Gier but not willing to take that leap of faith. Incredibly a used Bebop showed up at Guitar Center a few days ago and I leapt on it. I'll be ordering a Bebop or Bebop Classic soon :)

I was too slow and missed one of the basses currently listed on Sander's site. Which one of you clown's ordered the BEBOP 5 ROOMBOTER YELLOW? :) :)

The roomboter yellow is gone already? Dang. I would imagine the classics with the stripes are gone too then. Those are great IMO.

There was a used one at a guitar center???? Any pics? also, i'm curious, what was the price?

You might not want to know what I paid for it -- It was listed for $2099.99 and on sale for 10% off. So $1889.99.

To be sure, I'm eager to pay full price to get another one -- perhaps a Bebop Classic.

Oh yeah, I've had a set of thomastik flats on a Sandberg (first set for me) that are just getting really good. So I expect to put thomastik flats on this one.

Very nice. That’s a great price. What year is it? I think it’s older due to the word placement on the headstock. Could be wrong. It might say the year on the back of the headstock.

Glad I didn’t see it. It would have been hard not to buy at that price.

Umm me 😀 I just bought it from Geek In The Box. It had some imperfections because of it being a display model for them but I bought it pretty discounted so I’m excited to try it.

Hey everyone, I bought a roomboter yellow Bebop Degier with a body imperfection at the heel. The imperfection doesn’t bother me as it gives the bass a “it was intentionally made that way” vibe. However, I’m not bonding with the more passive leaning preamp. I’m an active jazz bass guy. Bass plays incredible and the build quality is definitely next level. If any of you have interest reach out to me. I haven’t had a chance to officially take pics and list it but I will be doing so.
