Do you know who's the bubinga's owner from the lastest cb website update?

I ordered my cb bass with a lot of different wood species to get the look that i wanted, but this bubinga bass makes me fell dumb because she's so simple but so great looking

i'm extremely satisfied with my choice.
i must admit i have always loved the look of the bubinga thumb basses but i did switch often between mac ebony and bubinga for the top.(forgive me cliff)
when i first held it in my hands i knew that it was the right choice.
i agree with spade2you saying that bubinga just works. i love it.
sometimes less fancy wood combinations can make you even more satisfied in the end because there're not as much choices that you can regret once you receive your bass
overall, the other reason for my minimalistic choice of woods is that i didn't want to experiment too much and in the end be unhappy with the sound of my bass. i think i successfully counteracted this...but only through a lot of trial and error with other basses.
all in all it's the best looking and best sounding bass i've ever owned.

If I like this one I'd seriously consider mimicking that Dark star bass.

Anyone here own a 7 string or something with a high f? I was planning on some sort of fanned fretted 7, but saw a top that has rekindled thoughts towards a fretless 7. Probably thinking I'll try a 32" scale 7 string and tuning BEADGBE, which should allow me to have thicker B and E strings due to the shortened scale length and tuning down a 1/2 step.

Yeah, should be interesting. I'd think 32" scale would make a 7 pretty easy to play. I definitely need to get off my lazy ass and order some strings and play around with tunings, scale lengths, and make observations on some of my current fretli.

Still unsure of pickups. I love the sound of my Bartolini PJ pickups, but might see what Nordstrand can do in terms of some sort of soap bar or custom made pickups.

I think I need to do the same. I might switch my tuning/strings around on some of my basses to breath new life into them.

You will love the Nordstrand pickups. I play my two basses that have Nordstrand in them on passive mode all the time.

Definitely stoked to get the DCs w/coil taps, Audere 4 band, Z modes, and all of the trimmings of my Rami 6. I suppose with the right placement, a DC should sound kinda P-ish or J-ish, but I'll see what I get and what Nordstrand says he can do to get me a nice PJ sound.

I kind of wouldn't mind trying one of those full ramps that people have been getting lately.

For me, changing the tuning was to do my best to avoid a plain steel string, which isn't a biggie on a fretted bass, but tends to lack sustain and sounds more like a sitar on a fretless bass. Between the shorter scale length and tuning down a 1/2 step, I'm hoping I can use thicker strings to have an upper register that's anything but nasal.

Hey fellas, I spoke to Cliff the past 2 days about a 6 string single cut. I am just in the planning phase and will place my order in about 3 months. Cliff is a great guy and I have supplied his ash for about 2 years.
What would you compare his necks to? I am also leaning toward a compound radius for the fingerboard. Your thoughts are much appreciated.

Spec'ing the 32" scale fretless 7 is coming along pretty nicely. Still very stoked to be getting the Rami 6 somewhat soon, too.

Anyone have a favorite photo editor, my version of Photoshop is to old to work with Windows 7. I basically only need it to take the back ground out of the final pictures and resize them.

I tried most of the existing editors.
Photoshop CS3 would be the best call (time/effort/quality-wise) and it works alright with Windows 7.

try gimp maybe. it's very powerful as well but slightly different to work with. IMO, however, nothing beats photoshop.

Gimp certainly works well on Vista. It's free too.

Interesting and very nice. I am currently speaking with Cliff about a burled redwood single cut and those just adds fuel to the fire. What fretboards are on each of the top two?
