DUDE! 6.5lbs is crazy light, and with Cliff's basses, it will balance perfectly. GORGEOUS!

Congrats and get us some pics when you get her, if you can pull yourself away from playing her.

No, it's not hollow. We were going for light, but had no idea it would be this light! According to Cliff, "I strung it up before finish today and this is the best resonating bass ever!" We think it has to do with the woods chosen and how well they work together.

The body is a lightweight ash, with a layer of ebony and redwood top. The neck is classic maple and the FB Pau Ferro.

I'll get some more picture up when the bass arrives.

Thanks to all of you for actively participating in this thread, your basses and comments helped my decide on the build in the first place.

Quite impressive, bro!!

Cliff's ash is generally really light. I've never weighed mine, but it's very easy on the shoulder! With the faux f-hole, people have picked it up and simply assumed it was hollow.

I'm very stoked for my Rami 6 slated for completion this spring. Between the 34" scale and reduced weight, it should be easier to play longer than my Conklin.

Thanks. I like em a lot! I am thinking of getting a mac ebony pickup cover for the zebrawood bass. I think it may look a little better. Plus my playing mojo has been wearing away the zebrawood cover. Any thoughts?
BTW. If you want some sound examples... there is a bunch of stuff on my myspace page (Any of the new stuff) and youtube channel with fretted CB.

I would think ebony would be stronger. You could look at something with a decent coat of epoxy, too. If you don't want to mess around, there isn't much out there that'll be as tough as Dymondwood.

Is there anyone here who as a maple fretboard with oil finish from Cliff?

Hello bordwell club member!

It's me AGAIN....

I have a question for you nordstrand owners....

My wonderfull upcoming bass will be equipped with big singles... I just not sure if it's the right choice for me. I try them a long time ago and i found them shy in the Highs department, it was maybe because the bass was passive with alder/RW combo.

I'm just not sure if i should go with a combination that i already like (NJ5 + audere)

I already have 2 basses with nj4 that's why i wanted to try something else...

What's you ropinion on the big singles?

Would you stay with a combination that you already like or would you try something different?

Man! Cliff's work always makes me drool.

I'm going to have to spring for a ball bass one of these days.

I wonder if it's too late to take these kids back . . . They're low mileage -- I'm sure I could get a full refund.

I know it's not in the same league as these beauties, but I miss my Performance 5.

Stupid GAS :(
