I am really eager for these upcoming Friday's!!

I did not pick out my Top from the available section, just asked for Canarywood. I also gave artistic freedom with two accent veneers between front and back.

So this is ALL news to me :hyper:

All kidding aside, I love most of the curly, spaulted, figured, burl hardwoods (except for Buckeye), but there is something about the simplistic beauty of ash. I also love the black ceruse of FBass (done with ash).

Yeah that black ceruse on those f basses is awesome. I love the enhanced grain look. For a minute was considering doing something similar with my upcoming bass but decided to keep it super simple with this one

I would describe the new headstock as "distilled" or "refined". Perhaps "elegant" is the best description that I could give it.

Your headless build is also on my radar. As I have also talked with Cliff about a potential headless build in my future, it will be cool to see Cliff's approach on yours...I think I have a concept list of about 4 or 5 different basses I want Cliff to build for me!

Been playing my Rami 6 a lot lately.

I recently got a new guitar room built in my garage. Took me a while to get a handle on humidity control (for the summer at least). Not a dig on Cliff or his building, but in terms of stability, the acrylized maple fingerboard is a lot more sensitive than I had anticipated. My other two CBs don't have a problem with this, so I'm inclinded to deduce that it's the fingerboard material.

Part of the purpose of the guitar room was to have better humidity control than I previously had in the house. I had just set it prior to switching rooms. Moved it to the room and got some backbow. Within a few days of getting humidity under control, it now plays like a million bucks.

Anyway, without getting too long winded, this is just an observation with my particular Rami 6. My local climate has very hot and humid summers with bone dry winters. A local report actually stated we have the biggest temperature shifts, which isn't a good thing. If'n you live in an area with huge humidity shifts, gaboon ebony and the acrylized maple Cliff was getting aren't the best choices.

In other news, I'm in a new band and hope to have some clips up sooner or later. Using my Ball 7, Rami 6, Rob Allen 6, and Stambaugh 4 currently.

Getting more and more excited everyday to get my new Bordwell. Can't wait to see how this one is going to turn out with the new body and headstock shape! Can't wait to get it out to some summer gigs!:hyper:
Doesnt help that the parts jazz bass I put together to hold me over is not quite getting the job done :(
It's funny. I was never somebody who played a bunch of different basses. Since I have gotten my Bordwells I have had 4 other basses and the only one I can see keeping is the p bass (ya gotta have a p bass in the stable::smug:). Nothing else even comes close both in playability and in sound quality to the Bordwell basses.

Any headless experts in the house?

The easy part is that Hipshot makes 4-7 string bridges.

Any thoughts on headstock clamps? Saw this and thought it looked really nice.

Anyone make shorter gig bags or custom hard cases? I don't think a standard gig bag would work (well) with a headless bass.

The gig bag is a good start. I'd like to think one of those should fit, but I'm not 100% sure.

The hardware that status uses isn't too radically different than what's on the market by Hipshot. In the interest of all sorts of wild and crazy strings that probably aren't available double ball up to 6 strings, I'd much rather use a string clamp system.

On an aesthetic level, I like how the clamps are behind the headstock on the Ritter. You don't need to be absolutely perfect with how you cut the string.
