Club Clement (Part 3: Post your basses here)

:hyper: So tonight at practice me and the drummer are just jamming together before all starts up. I am cranked a little louder on volume and the new music minister comes over to me and says "Do you always play THAT bass? You have never sounded that good before." :eek: "Make sure you play THAT bass Sunday."
#122 had LaBella Nylon tape wounds on for the first time and sounding BIG and Strong. Previously we were stringing up with a TI super alloy set. Man, was I surprised. I thought tape wounds were for soft stuff but we were doing some contemporary Christian worship songs and #122 was filling the auditorium with good clean articulate thunder. I'm happy!! :D:bassist::D Everybody is happy!!

REALLY well done.
I got to play a set with #205 this weekend. I'm lucky enough to get to play quite a few of Tom's basses and I can say I don't think I've ever played one that wasn't really nice. But this one is REALLY nice. Plays smooth, Feels good on the strap, sounds GREAT. As a matter of fact, some musician friends of mine were in the crowd that set and after the set set they ask " what bass were you playing, that thing sounded great".
It's been 3-4 days and I'm still thinking about how great that bass was.
I think Tom has some clips.

Thats a straight Felicia, widened a bit, just to fit my out of scale strings and hardware, but I did turn the lower bout down a smidge.

Could you build it Tom? Wood pickup covers? Is quilted any good for a fretless 'board?

Unfortunately still a pipe dream, but as Willy Wonka said

Checking in on the thread of Mr. Bass Wizard :-) I have a lot of catching up to do, sorry for going missing in action for a while!!! :)

But I am still alive. My latest bass stunt can be heard on The Wizard's web site, under the sound sample page, as Rio Amazonas. My Clement Anne and some live looping using a Roland RC-2. I also have another piece where I resite a poem over top, but it's in Norwegian, so of limited interest. However, the Anne is such an organic instrument, lends itself very well to solo bass performances.

My latest bass adventure is an old Chinese upright bass that I'm trying to make playable. It's a far way from my Clements, but it's fun, too.... :-)

So for those who wondered if I disappeared: No, I didn't :D Just bombed out, had my in-laws visiting for three weeks :o

And for those who are missing their membership numbers: Sorry!!!! :D
