Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I am very pleased and excited to post (after much coaxing :)) that Tom is in the process of building two Jon style left handed six strings for me. So far we are a month into the build and Tom has been a pleasure to work with; sending me updates and photos everyday. He is making a Jon six string fretted with a Wenge necks and a Bubbinga top and a Jon six string fretless with an Ebony neck and a black limba body. I attached some photos of the build for everyone.

I have many more pictures and will send them shortly! I can't express enough how excited I am.

This is really astonishing, amazing, ... don't know enough words in english to express my excitement. Watch this!!!!! Isn't she gorgeous?

Hey Gang,

Unfortunately, I must let go of #153.:bawl:

I've had some interested parties ask if it's difficult to pop or slap on a six-string. Since I don't pop or slap, I really feel I can't appropriately answer this question.

Do any of you who own Tom's extended-range instruments who slap/pop have any input on this topic?

Thanks in advance!

Can some on please post Tom's email addr. His site wants to start outlook to send him and email and I don't have outlook installed.

Thanks

Take a look again at his contact page.. He lists his e-mail again at the bottom without having to use the link. I would post it here but I don't want to be responsible for additional spam in his box.

So, 2010 bass buying sabbathical is over. Apart from bying a 6-string headless bridge/tuner setup, I pretty much didn't buy much last year. But I'm hoping this year will bring me another bass... obviously a 6-string :D

But... and this is a big *BUT* :) I am in "need" of two things... ok ok, let's get the wording right. I'm GASSING for two things... a new solid body 6-string and a double-neck 6-string fretted/5-string fretless. I have to stop and think carefully through this, I know. :)

But I'm expecting to be starting sometime this late winter/spring. :)

yes, let me submit this as a 2011 goal: spanish cedar, bird'seye maple top for wings and complete backside and wenge center block for the body, limba neck with wenge fret board. Probably hang an EMG 45 CS pup direct to jack.
Anyone else have 2011 dreams / resolutions?

It's great that left handed players can also enjoy Tom's work! That's just totally awesome!

As for fever, that never left... I guess I just contained it!

Thinking about that slim new shape Tom has for the double neck... Would be great for an economically perfect workhorse 6-er. Still a little drawn on double neck or ordinary, but think maybe a single neck is safer. We'll see. Gonna enjoy this build. I guess I should also look at other builders, but.... Why? Lol
