Had these from Tom over the weekend. 211 looks stunning!

AND - in other news, the GB amp has hit the UK shores! So another few days of faffing around in customs and then I'm amped up again!

Today I officially get to join! Sent Tom the deposit on my first custom build. I'm freakin' thrilled. :hyper:

Tom has been very cool and very responsive over the last 48 hours. Had a couple of changes in direction with my build specs, and he's been helpful through all of it so far.

So here's my specs.

4 string Kim (modern doublecut)
Padauk body
Quartersawn Black Limba Neck (2 octave)
Lined Ebony board
Inlayed straplocks
Bart BC's shifted a little closer to the bridge (to match approximately the Ken Smith pickup placement design on my 5 string)
Passive EQ.

Tom's ordering the pups today, and sent me my first shot of the rough sawn body wood which unfortunately I can't upload right now. :)

So

Good news - the Trace isn't knacked after all. A/B testing with another bass player that has one has shown it to be functioning right.

Not So good News - I've already ordered the GB Shuttle

Slightly Better News - The fact the Trace is all A-OK means I can get it up on Flea bay (which I've done)

THE BAD NEWS....

P-ARSE-L Farce (or Parcel-Force) appear to have sent my amp to IRELAND!!

Damn numpties!

They are as much use as a chocolate tea pot! I reckon on 1 in 3 items I order from the states gets 'lost' in their system for about 10 days

The customs have finally found my bass after almost a week. Now I've got to fill in a form and when that's done, they'll send me another form to get a form so that I can collect my bass. :bawl:

And then I've got to pay VAT and import taxes. :scowl:

Next time I take a plane to Tom with my empty gigbag and I come back with my gigbag and a bass in it. Probably it will even be cheaper. Perhaps you should do that too Wavey. ;)
