This is going WAY OT, but something weird happened- Nofretz post #851 at 9:17 AM yesterday comes up as completely blank in the thread-and with no notice of editing.
I only saw the content of the post this morning when I opened my TB email concerning this thread.

I can read it, but it looks like the color of the text is set to white, which makes it hard to read. Try highlighting the text.

Sorry about that. My skin is blue so text is white. When I pasted the email it came out black = hard to read on the blue background. changed to all white.

Bompabass - can we look forward to a few sound clips????

When I took the box I was really surprised about the weight. Very light.
I unpacked her (everybody in the house that saw her until now find her very beautiful) , tuned her and played her. She is very sensitive so I've got to adapt my way of playing. I do have to make less effort to have a good tone. The neck is, like a lot of you told, really nice playable, and all the way up to the higher notes. Especially this is very very nice. Never had a bass where the upper region is so easily accessible. I even got the idea that it is easier than on my neck through body bass.
The tone is acoustic like Tom told. It is also possible to make her sing a bit, like a fretless. That's a nice surprise. I didn't expect that. I need to learn to work more with the possibilities and the tones of course.
And indeed she is really comfortable to play when seated.
And great in balance, light on the strap when playing upright. Very nice too.

Congrats Bompa!

Worth the wait then!

Has everyone check Tom's Gallery recently...

There's a new Kid on the Block - ready to kick some butt!

Once again, I think TC has done an incredible job!

I mean a double neck is a pretty extreme, ostentatious instrument, whether guitar - or (IMO) more so as a Bass, let alone a twin 5 string! It could easily have been an ergonomic monster.

But Tom's nailed this one - there's nothing that's completely OTT, or wanky for the sake of it. Its extremely tasteful, beautifully crafted - a total work of art.
