I like them both! Have you played a bass with Chi's?

No not yet, been looking around for them, but no stores around here carry a bass with them. I've played the darkstars before and I think they're great, so obviously I am biased `till i can try both. How is the LH3 pre-amp? The decade I played was passive, but how would an active on compare?

OK---it got up to 60 degrees today and I was home before the sun went behind the hill back of my house. So it was perfect for a photoshoot. Here it is, the Decade that had the routing hole gaps (some as wide as 1/2") around the after-market Darkstars.

I'm going to try it with round soon---to string thru, do I need Extra Long Scale or will Long Scale do it?

long scale will do. Very nice! The Lakland guys did a great job bringing that bass back up to par. I remember the old pics. Good deal!

Yeah---even under close visual inspection and running your fingers over the areas, you cannot detect that any wood was removed at all. Hats off to the guys at Lakland.

Thanks so much guys. GregC---it hurt to see it hacked up the way it was. I loved the way it felt and sounded, so I felt it would be a crime not to restore this beauty to its original glory, sans pickguard however. Needless to say, I'm a proud pappy.

Yeah...you really need to play one. I love them both..Chis have a little more mids. My Dacade is passive, but I have the LH3 in my 4-07 and love it!

Just tried strung Chromes on my Decade, and am really diggin' them too. More mid lows that the TI's in my opinion.

I haven't seen one yet (the coral is definitely darker than Fender's shell pink). I've seen one in burgundy mist.

Put some rounds on my Decade---I like the sound of them better than flats. And when it is up to "11", it is much, much nastier---it sounds like you ought to cage it---it is too dangerous to just let roam! But of course, I like to live dangerously, so I let'er rip!
