Could you try the toothpick trick? Works for me on larger screw holes. Get you some wooden toothpicks and scrunch them in and around the screw hole as you screw in. You get a solid, tight screw fit (this is starting to sound pornographic - sorry).

Man that metallic green looks fabulous. I'd be tempted to go with a white pearloid pickguard to dress/retro it up.

I'm curious about something.

My Decade (and yours?) definately has a unique sound.
There's "The Big Neck Pickup" tone, and "The Barking Bridge Pickup" tone. There's the typical v/v/t both pups on full "somewhat scooped" tone.

All of these variants, to my ear, "are a little honky."
Different sounding.
I don't attribute this to the Chi's, but, rather the "way towards the enck" placement of one; and perhaps my mega-light piece of mahogany body.

I don't think the Chi's are unique in this regard as my DarkStar'd 1972 Tele has the same kinda thing, a lil bit. Nearly the same neck pickup placement.

This effect is more audible with some amp/cab combos than other; and nearly inaudible with others.




Anyone else hear any of this, or am I trippin' or got a unique thing going on with mine?

has to be the mahogany. Mine is alder, I don't get that. I run full up on everything and it sounds like a mix between my JO and DPLE II. Like a growly P bass...which is the best P bass sound I've heard to my ears. I'm using nickel rounds (Lakland)

You can't go wrong with white pearl:-) I do like the guard that is on it...I would leave it on, but white pearl would be my secondish pick.
