Thanks Stew. I cant think of another high- end production boutique fretless that does as well in the market as this model...you touched on one reason for sure. Add to that the unique overall design and features that not only make it asthetically beautiful, but gives it its own distinctive tone IMO.

It's also cool that you live reasonably close to Hamilton, so you can visit the shop for repairs etc, when you need to. Montreal is a bit far for that.

This clip never shows the bassist -- in fact it shows no one but the keyboard player -- but does this bass sound like an AC6 to anyone else? Oleg, do you know?

BTW, I gigged at a university last night -- a formal, dress up affair with a nice dinner and the "whole 9 yards. The crowd was on the young side and I had bassists come up to talk during breaks and after the gig.
Nearly all the conversation was questions about the two fretless basses I was using (the AC6-Signature and the AC6-Classic). They were AMAZED at how different the two basses sounded. Of course I have DR DDT rounds on the AC6 Signature and Thomastik Infeld Jazz Flats on the AC6 Classic, but the sonic differences could not be more stark -- and wonderful.
Of course I had a couple of other Fbasses there -- and Fodera -- but the basses everyone was talking about were the fretless Fbasses.

That's cool. I always chat up the bass player any chance I can get. We're a special community and we know it! Nice that you got to show off some subtleties, that kind of sharing can influence young players a lot.
Sounds like you had enough bass on stage to buy an upmarket small car at your gig!
BTW, this video features a bass solo dual between a guy with an Fbass BN6 and a guy with a Fodera... a good time to A/B the basses head to head.
Is anyone planning on going to NAMM 2013?
I understand Fbass is expanding their footprint at NAMM this year, getting a bigger booth so they can show more basses -- and of course the new Fbass cabinets.

It's not really like AC6, but Alex says it's AC6
