Hey folks,
I'm the owner of a fbass from few hours and I have few questions about electronics.
1) there is no center detect on the EQ knobs. It this normal ?
2) The passive/active knob. It's the passive tone when raised and a pre output control when active. Correct ?

There is no center dent because it doesn't cut any frequency, it boosts only.

Two of the knobs pull up. The tone knob pulls up to put the bass in passive mode.

The bridge volume is a push pull knob as well. In one mode the bass is single coil, in the other mode it is noise canceling. BNs built in 2004 and earlier, you pull up the knob for single coil mode. After, pulling up the knob puts it in hum bucking mode.

Thanks for the compliments, I received the bass today and I'm starting to explore how it sounds.
Just another newbie question...
Is serial number engraved permanently anywhere or is located only on the sticker behind the headstock ?
What happens if the sticker is accidentally removed / permanently damaged ?

The serial number is also inside the control cavity.... Or it should be.

I could be wrong but I think it might also be under the pickups on the body. .. I think George used to do that with his old ones, I don't know if that practice was continued or not.

Laughing! You guys are funny. My wife made herself a TB account and comes on once in awhile so I've gotta tread carefully in here.

I'm sorry for oversimplifying it, but it isn't just the keyboard -- I store the club roster in a web page, and the tools in the web browser I use on my Macs allow me to pull it out and put it here much easier than when I'm using the Safari browser on the iPad.
