Thanks Gustavo....Congrats Randy, beautiful instrument, I wish you great music with Wallace!!!
They are both Passive VF-JP's...Anyone here know anything about the basses Michael League is getting? Are the passive?
Well, Ive had a few gigs with the new BNF6 (Wallace) and I have to tell you that George and the Cats at FBASS hit this bass out of the Park...they surpassed my expectations...(as usual)
Everything and more on my shopping list....(which is huge and Iam super picky((OCD))View attachment 435694 about gear)...was completed...The Wallace is Mid Focused, percussive, clear with great highs and huge lows....but at no time overly bright and ice picky/harsh....The build was/is to be designed in such a manner that it would be in your face!!...with a twist of the knob go from mild to wild.
Wallace allows me to be subjective with my right hand attack and add little variations or subtleties' to my playing ...Im not a huge slapper but I use my two fingers (think Rocco) to get those growly/funky tones out!!!....with ease!!!
I could go on for ever about how this process was just a cake wake...Marcel makes it so easy...from specs to wood selection...just the best in the business!!!
Gotta go ...performing this morning at a Jazz Brunch!!...sure hope theres sticky buns!!!
Hi guys, what is the best method of adjusting the truss rod on a BN5? I find that I'm having to loosen the A string to access it...is that the norm? Also, which truss rod adjustment tool is best?
Hou, when will you be ready for a Fbass in your arsenal ?Anyone here know anything about the basses Michael League is getting? Are the passive?
Haha! I would like a simple and clean F bass. Passive 5 string with 17.5 mm spacingHou, when will you be ready for a Fbass in your arsenal ?![]()
Yep, I hear you.View attachment 437561
Or I a think a passive 33 scale 4 string would be funky
asbs...
The dynamics of this bass are huge...by adjusting my right hand technique and position...I can get a mid scooped to a mid focused sound...
IME...The Walnut is a direct, linear type sound of wood!!..meaning the sound is not coloured too much...that is also what I love about FBASS's...They are not a one trick pony...So many options are far as tone possibilities!!....For me the exposed pole pieces can add to a detailed crisp sound...not brittle...but also aids with being more percussive sounding...think growl...these are just my thoughts...There is just so much more to this bass than this going on!!!!
