Posted today on YouTube: a live solo of Jaco with Weather Report. It's great (of course), but what always amazes me about Jaco was how good he was for his time. Today you could argue for a group of 40 or so bassists as the A-list, and every one of them were influenced at least in part by how Jaco played.

But back then, Jaco was the A-list. And there were no astonishing, jaw-dropping players and / or innovators for him to emulate while growing into his own playing style.

Hey Asbs....received "WALLACE" last night ....opened it up to find the most incredible bass yet to date that I have ordered from FBASS....I will give a full run down later ...having way too much fun with this BNF6....it gives you inspiration and pushes me to play more...so comfortable...sound is huge...deep ...articulate...mind blowing B string!!!...sustain for days!!!...I had a gig last night but did not take ....next one!
oh...one more thing...Marcels pictures are always incredible...but its nothing like seeing it in person!!
