Have anyone tried to mod the pre from 9v > 18v
It never felt necessary to do so, but curious if anyone has done this.

Saves weight of one 9V battery. Just kidding - only a good natured chuckle.Great question,
I've talked to Marcel about this for my build as well. He said that the 18v system does not work well with the proprietary fbass preamp. He stated that it makes the op-amp component of the preamp noisy, so its not recommended.
He also stated that the 9v system with the fbass preamp lasts 400-500 hrs of normal use, so there's no need for an extra battery. This saves on bass weight and additional concerns regarding battery life since the draw is low.
I hope this helps!

It's hard to tell from that photo, but I wonder if that fingerboard is radiused. It seems convex like an acoustic upright, and not flat like most electric basses.Hey! I have no affiliation with this shop, but I noticed this little oddity while looking through the website of The Twelfth Fret, located in Toronto. The price is $2150CAD. If the shop is willing to ship, xe.com calculates that it should be approximately $1613USD.

Definitely a little weirdo & conversation piece. I thought it might capture the interest of an FBass collector/historian in this group. It's hard to tell from that photo, but I wonder if that fingerboard is radiused. It seems convex like an acoustic upright, and not flat like most electric basses.
I've never seen an Fbass that looks remotely like this one! Interesting oddity. It gives me the feeling it was made from spare parts lying around the shop.

The bass has arrived and I’ve started putting it through it’s paces. Initial impressions are that it is smoother than my VF and there is less fret noise. All the notes are even sounding. Very punchy and the notes aren’t too thick. I’m still getting used to the different body shape and playing over the pickups (I’ve played a VF almost exclusively for the past 7 or so years).
I’ll see about doing a video soon, once I get a bit more comfortable with it.
This roster update officially adds metalstorm's new BN5 to his number. Congratulations!View attachment 3449984

Just got this VF5 PJ on a trade & replaced the saddles with the threaded ones that Hipshot makes to get it to 18mm spacing & it feels like home now.
