does YJ wax pot his P pickups? noticed in some of my recordings I can hear vocals in my bass channel. Very odd!
If he's doing everything as it was done in 60/61 they should be lacquer dipped.

my p classic is noisy all of a sudden (or I am just noticing it.) I opened her up and the control cavity is shileded but not the pickup cavity. I am debating shielding it/grounding the pole pieces as they buzz when I touch them. But I also may do nothing. wwyd?

Funny, I had forgotten that I shielded mine with copper foil years ago and did the same thing and indeed it has been great ever since.
Yep sounds identical on recordings I checked bc I'm crazy lol. It didn't a. t first and I freaked but I had some weird plugins on in logic all is good. Took about 40 minutes

Friends, I have a problem on my P Classic. The jack out is sometimes noisy when the cable wiggles and it goes away when I give the connector a push and tighten the cable. That works until I move around a bit, the cable wiggles a bit and I get static again. Also last gig I was at it dropped signal altogether a few times, which came back when I tightened the cable again.
I've swapped cables, amps and basses and I can say without doubt the issue lies with my Moollon. So this morning I opened her up with the plan to tighten up the Switchcraft socket, but to my surprise it all seems very solid on the inside. I cannot see any play at the tip, seems like a solid connection. The socket is not moving or rotating in any way and the soldering looks perfect (to my eye).
What could be the issue here and how do I fix it? Taking it to a tech is always an option, but I'd rather not.
