Club Moollon

Just as a little note (in case folks ask), the finish on Jeremy's lovely P-Classic IV was one of YJ's rather acceptable happy accidents this year, in that it was part of a small batch of Olympic White builds that came out much creamier than normal, almost akin to the Vintage White he'd done in years past.

Jeremy was kind gracious enough to give the OK on it, and so YJ proceeded with the build as normal. Note the "proper" Olympic White 1966 J-Classic IV neck to show contrast in hue:

I wish I could say that the above Vintage White-ish finish as completed would be a part of future rotation, but YJ mentioned that it probably won't.

Thanks for sharing, Andi. I was reluctant to. It was definitely a happy accident for me, I couldn't be more pleased with how the bass turned out.

I like the honesty that Andi and YJ have with their customers. It's refreshing.

Just think, you have a rare limited edition color P-Classic. Who wouldn't want that?
Do us a favor and post some before and after pics of your bass once the nitro ages.

I was one of the customers that got the "no happy accident" Oly White in August, and must say, this color creamy colored finish [pre aged} Jeremy's special, would have been my top choice. Hopefully YJ will re-consider, its absolutely beautiful.

Has anyone had a go with Moollon pedals?
I’m using the moollon bass drive - it’s a pretty versatile drive that will give you a solid rock tone and you won’t lose any of the low end frequency like some drive pedals out there do. I’m happy with it and it’s on my pedalboard for a while now. (It looks amazing too ;))

My J-Classic IV is in my possession! Unfortunately, though, it's sitting in the box for a while waiting for me to open it up and take a peek, since I'm working for the time being. I've waited for almost 10 months, I guess I can wait for another hour...
not me. I picked mine up at my work office where it was delivered, tried to drive it home but pulled over halfway home to open it in an empty parking lot!

My recently arrived J-Classic IV in Cooper Gold. Had to include a PG shot because this tort is bonkers. Here ya go:

My Surf Green Moollon P sounded amazing on the sessions I did last week. Used it on two of the six tracks. The Serek and the 63'P were also used on two tracks each. The only real reason the 63' was used was simply because it was strung with rounds whereas the Moollon is strung up with TI Flats. Got me seriously considering a second P-IV for that very reason.

Not sure if YJ has a new pickguard source, but the tort guard on my JV is SO good!! View attachment 4025232View attachment 4025233

A little birdie told me that it's the older (post 2014) stuff on this year's J-Vs and P-Vs, and although we should start seeing the new tort on P-Classic IV guards probably around spring/summer 2021 or so, YJ says the texture is remarkably similar and most folks will probably not take notice. Glad to report that the good stuff will be with us for several years longer, heaven willing :)
