OMG

I just bought a Sadowsky pre / DI box

First I had big problems using the Sadowsky with my usual AC adapter (it's an Axis) which I'm using for all my other EFX but having a new Dunlop adapter from Sadowsky now released the problem.

I have two Fender CS basses - a JB & a P - they do sound very very nice on their own but now........they sound more than incredible :hyper: - the Sadowsky sounds soooo smooth - my favorite setting is Treble 11 o'clock , Bass on 1 o'clock, Vol. at 3 o'clock.

It adds incredible Punch and richness to any of my basses.

I have never heard anything that can add so much smoothness (does that word exist ? :) ) without sounding like a harsh active preamp

And the most funny thing is - even my two Foderas do sound much better with this Preamp then with the Pope Pre amp inside ;)

I love to play my Basses passive (like I do 90%) but now I think the Sadowsky will need to be around on every upcoming gig.

I like to run the o/b preamp volume wide open w/ a passive P.

GB and MB products matches well by the way...

The local GB distributor guys are good friends of mine, they like MB Products and sell them as well too!!!

Back to Sadowskys... Whatever amp you use them with (including overseas made amps) it still has that tone that works in every music style.

One thing I really loved about them... So I don't have to bring my amp everytime. I've owned MTDs, F Bass, vintage Fenders, Warwicks, and they're not that versatile when it comes to what kind of amp you plugged them into. Sadowsky nailed on this one!

This is one of the things I'm finding out about my Sadowsky. With most of my other basses, I'd have to fiddle with the pickup settings and eq between songs to find a tone that would work for the next song.

With the Sadowsky, it's literally just plug it in and it works. I almost feel guilty because I'm not adjusting anything between songs. Sometimes I might favor one pickup or do a little bass boost. Never because I have to but because I can. ;)

God i know that feeling of waiting, it almost feels like forever, congrats and of course you know the rules, no pic, no bass;).

I can't comment on the B string benefits of the reverse P, but I've never found the D & G strings to be thin at all on any of the Sadowskys that have passed through my hands.

Sounds great !!!!! I'm still expreimenting with the settings.... I only have played one gig through the PA with it yet and for the rest of the time I was checking the settings on my small practise amp at home ;)

Are you sure ? In my manuall it says that the volume should be usually set to maximum

I have found that every Bass needs a different Vol. setting - playing with my Foderas I could set the Vol to maximum , with the Fenders I only could set it to 1 o'clock because they have a stronger output.

He didn't say the D and G strings sound thin on a Sadowsky. He asked if the reverse P will thicken them up, which it will in a reverse P configuration because you're moving the sensing point closer to the neck, and any time you do that, you're gonna' get a thicker bigger fatter sound.

In short, to simply say "thicken" doesn't necessarily suggest "previously thin". It only means to make thicker than it was before.

Now, I'm hoping Mikebass doesn't run with that last comment... it could get scary. :)
