No, I didn't...I have a MV5PJ on order. Should be here about any second now. Ash/maple to match my MV5JJ.
So, I decided to stand by my order, and stick with the matching basses thing; both of which my match my '72 Fenders....
GAS nearly got me on that one though!

Bart's wife is on the list of "spectacular wives". But Bart does really deserve it anyway. But don't tell him that I said that. Happy Father's Day bub!
I was going to have the shop in NYC make me a new pickguard but found a local shop that had a really quick turn-around time. So I ordered a new black pickguard and a tort guard for my new-to-me PJ5. I kinda thought that the original mint guard just didn't do the bass justice.
Here is how it came out. I really have a difficult time getting a dark cherry burst to look right.

I was going to have the shop in NYC make me a new pickguard but found a local shop that had a really quick turn-around time. So I ordered a new black pickguard and a tort guard for my new-to-me PJ5. I kinda thought that the original mint guard just didn't do the bass justice.

I was thinking that since the alder on this bass is fairly muted, that the tort guard would over-power what grain there is. So I think that the black works better. Plus I think that it works well with the rich darkness of the Brazilian.

Photos never seem to do justice to a mint pg. You at least have it easy w/pg changes. I have a chore on my hands w/ a P pg. I love your PJ Jerry. (or should I say 3 PJ's now.

You kids know that Tulley Kennedy (the guy selling that PJ5) is the bass player for Jason Aldean. One of the bigger names in country right now.

I rarely get any video clips of my band posted, but someone shot a decent video of us playing a show Saturday night:

As usual, the WL sounded great! I'd brought my Berg AE212 because it had looked like it might rain and it fits nicely under a trash bag if needed. But the rain held off; the sound guy was using a 421 (nice piece of gear -- might be tops on my GAS list). The city had blocked off a street downtown (we were playing a benefit show for a local AIDS organization during PRIDE week), and during the a capella parts you could hear the crowd singing reverberating in the street which was really cool.
