Thankfully, I am a little better at playing bass than taking pictures.
2 NYC's though, including a fretless, should get me into this prestigious club.

Is that a J bass body with a 21 fret neck but Modern pickups, locations, and control layout?

They're actually EMG soapbars (I swear they sound great). It is the "standard" sadowsky J body with 21 "frets"/positions". I actually don't even know the exact specs for this bass. It was born in '98. I was in the shop early last year, saw it for sale very lightly used, picked it up out of curiosity and instantly fell in love with it. Was not in the market for a bass, but couldn't put it down.

I couldn't stop thinking about it for days. When I found out it was still there a week later, I bought it.

I really haven't played it enough lately. Gotta get back to it now that I have some time again. I was messing around on it tonight, and my intonation was horrible!!!

I think that you got #69...as sexy as your Sadowskys. How does the MV5 sound with th MK? I'm on the search for an small amp.

Ahhh my favorite number :D

I think the Sad/MB combo sounds great! Similar to my Sad/iamp sound with a little more "character" in the mids. (how's that for a vague description!)

Is it me or do I look like I'm using the Mike Watt right hand "flipper" technique? Yikes...

Oh, man! I played several of the new Sadowsky's at NAMM, including a certain NYC 4-string with Nordstrand Big Singles. Oh, my!!! That bass just kills!!! I'll post pics in a bit, but I must say a Sadowsky with Big Singles just may be in my future. :D

Given my experience with Mikebass's Nordstrand pickup/Sadowsky pre combination, and also having played a Sadowsky a while back with the Nordstrand single coil J's, that is a nice combination which I like much better than the Audere pairing. That being said, the Seymour singles (the Sadowsky singles) sound even better to me!

I would think the Big Single/Big Split option would be a nice way to kind of average out the tone of the Modern 5 with the Vintage/Standard models... fatter and fuller than a J loaded Standard/Vintage, but not as 'over the top low mid aggressive' as the Modern due to the pickup placement. Nice!
