Club Sadowsky!!!

Tradernick, You don't list where your from. It is very possible that with temperature changes cross country shipping that all of the issues with your bass occurred during shipping (even the rattle). I doubt very much it left the Shop that way.

Two things bother me, you said you took it to your tech and he gave you a list of problems. Did he DO anything to it. If the D string is the only issue I'm sure Roger would gladly send you another one.

burk, thanks for the reply. I'm in Toronto and we have had hot very humid weather here too. I totally realize that this can move the neck in transit. To be honest the intonation is not the main issue for me.

I guess enough has been said about this from my POV. It surely is not a matter of a D string, I would never put Roger through the wringer over that, but I appreciate your comment. I would not allow my tech to touch the instrument.

By the way, Roger told me that if it was just a matter of intonation, I could take it to my tech and have him set it up, and he offered to pick up the tab for that!

I will not post here again until I have a resolution, at which time I will explain how Roger dealt with me in order to help others who may read this thread before determining whether the company is for them.

Here's a public service announcement for you portabag users:

The Portabag doesn't fit in an SKB Bass Safe.
Tried hard to get one in there today, even pulled the foam out of the base of the BS, but it just wasn't going to go. Bummer.

I can't hold this in any longer. I'm changing the direction to my new NYC J bass, which is supposed to arrive tomorrow according to FedEx. :hyper:
I can hardly wait....I'm not going to be able to sleep tonight at all. This is my FIRST Sadowsky and I'm going absolutely nuts here. It will arrive at my work and get delivered to my office by my receiving guys......and then I won't be able to touch it until a "break" or lunch time for fear of the boss walking in, which he does frequently! LOL! I'm completely buried at work on top it all. ARGHHH!

But, I AM SOOOOO ECSTATIC!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Nick,
It is good to hear that Roger is willing to work with you to come to a resolution. That has been my experience with him, as well.

Some builders do not have that level of service. Some come with the attitude of "that is the way it is, take it or leave it" He is top notch. Let us know how it works out.

Just re-route it to me and stop worrying about it. :)

+1 The Metro's are not mass produced instruments like Fender's and, from most of what I've read, are in the same quality class as the NYC's but without the fancy tops, routing, etc. I've noticed some tber's here, who own both a NYC and Metro, prefer the tone of their Metro so it goes both ways.

+1. I just became a Sadowsky Metro owner and I can't imagine how the workmanship quality could be any better on a NYC, it's that good. I suppose I'm not really qualified to judge since my Sad is the only one I've ever played but it easily compares with my Dingwall and Ken Smith.

Regarding tone, which is of couse subjective, my Metro sounds "clanky" unplugged and amazing when amplified!

I'm a new metro owner too and agree with you 100%. The tone unplugged is a bit clanky but thats like complaining about your car being slow when you're not giving it gas. This is the nicest and best sounding bass I've ever owned.

What have you been using that does fit? Just curious.

lol... no, that's not a wise guy thing to say. Of course I'll be plugging it in and playing it a lot tonight. Then I'll take it back to my tech and spend some time with him and talk it over. Then I'll make a decision. My main moment of pain was when I A/B'd this bass with my main players acoustically. That and the rattle I heard.

I really really have to go right now so I'll look over the other posts when I get back. Like I said, Roger has emailed me and all is well, I can do whatever I want.

I really, really, really hope "it" all works out for you. Good Luck!

BluesyCat, that's an incredible bass... I don't blame you AT ALL. Of course you MUST post some of your pics as well as first thoughts, first gig reports, etc. :)

YOU HAVE BEEN TASKED!! ;)

Gorgeous bass, it looks like it came from the same tree as mine (pictured in my avatar). Can't wait to see the final pics.

You'll have to come down to Detroit for one of our GTG's some time.

Any "regular" gig bag would fit, I think.
I need to get my newish sadowsky home from the road, so bought the Bass Safe today. Ended up having to buy a gig bag as well to be able to use it - now I need to get the bass safe AND the portabag home!
I wonder if an inCase slim would fit?
