Wallpaper eh??

Here's a shot from the photo shoot we did last year. Biggest change from this photo is that I got promoted, so my sleeve insignia isn't accurate any more. Sorry if the photo is huge on some systems...

Definite wallpaper for my screensaver of awesomeness!

Thanks everyone. It was a huge relief to get promoted. More responsibility, more accountability, more authority, and more money. Now, I get a bit extra time to study for the next promotion test...they make you sit out a cycle before taking the next one.

I know I'm not as active on here as I used to be, but I can't get away. I pretty much check this thread, the classifieds, and the Aguilar threads in Amps.

FWIW, the only ship time I have done so far was for combo gigs during Navy Week(s) last year. Show up, load in, play combo gig on a flight deck, load out. Between July of 2012 and June 2013, I performed in front of approx 11.3 million people on bass guitar, double bass, bass drum, cymbals, or in a support role (driving, load crew, etc) for Navy work.

They let me freelance outside as long as it doesn't interfere w/our gigs. So, some months, I don't sleep much between inside and outside work. E.g. if I'm lucky, I get a 5-7 show/week theatre gig, sub out 1-2 nights to do Navy gigs, do a few ceremonial gigs during the day, and a poetry Slam Sunday night...and buy Monster by the case.

Actual bass/Sadowsky related stuff...

I want another bass to keep one Sadowsky at work, and have the other for freelance/practice at home. I've thought about it since I bought this one back in 2010. I see myself ending up with either an R5-24 or an MV5-24.

I like the brightness, how they sit in a mix (combo, rock band, horn rock band, wind ensemble, theatre pit), extremely stable neck, and feel. I've done three setups on it since I got it in 2010. One when I first got it, one when I was in Virginia, and one when I got back to Chicago.

Hi Gang,

I changing my amp systeme (all MarkBass).
Any comments about how your Sadowsky sound with a Blue Soul Glock, a Epifani UL501 or a Agui Tone Hammer 500 ?

That's funny. I wondered the same thing.

You know, I'm going to have to play my "knucklehead" card and admit that, while I'm pretty sure it's chambered, I don't know for sure. I bought it from the "in-stock" section of the shop, and I'm sure they told me at the time, but honestly I don't remember. Their website says it weighs in at 8.45 pounds.

I do know that when I first got it, my main basses were a Music Man 5 and a Fender Deluxe 4 (with heavyweight tuners that gave it miserable neck-dive). Compared to those 2, the Sadowsky felt almost like a cheap toy (as far as the overall weight goes).:hiding: But, I got used to that REALLY quickly - this bass plays and sounds better than anything else I've tried before or since, and it's soooo comfortable to put on and play. It's also the only bass I've played where I've had the soundman at gigs give me compliments on the bass tone.

The pickups are the original HC.

I play mine through an Aguilar Tone Hammer 500. I love it. I set the gain & drive to noon, and get enough over drive sound to warm it up.

Here's a link to a few tunes from a live gig from a few weeks ago. The signal is: M5-24 w/fairly old Blue Label (Steels) into TH500 into Aggie GS112 w/a line to the board via the onboard DI.
