Club Sadowsky!!!

At some point (if not already) my well-worn 2005 is going to need frets, but I'm not an ultra-low action guy so I don't notice a problem. Great pics, Mike & Fran... I'll have to snap one, too.

Mine is also a 2005, though it was virtually new when I bought it in 2009 and it has had Sadowsky flats ever since. IME, frets get marked on the first few months/years of playing but then they stay that way for a long time.

Guess my point was missed.....it was more about how much il playing the bass because I really dig it.
And you can feel the marks with your fingernail if you run it across.
4098 has definitely seen a lot of luv in its life so far, but it's frets are fresh as of late last year, so I gotta' start over... woikin' on it tho. :)

The frets on my Metro are definitely showing wear now after almost 2 years of intense playing but I've got a little more time before I have to have them refinished. The problem is, I'm not going to want to part with it in order to have them done! I knew I should have bought two! Ha!

You should buy another one. That you'll have one to play on when you send back the other one to the shop to have Roger gently caress and whisper to the frets while they grow back!
That is how he does that, right? :D

My recently acquired Will Lee Metro ... Loving this bass

I emailed Sadowsky about this but haven't heard back so I'll ask here. I went on the site expecting to order some Blue labels but, as I was at the check out, I realized it would cost almost $60 to buy them and have them shipped to Montreal. Are shipping costs really that high right now? Has anyone from Canada ordered strings from the U.S. lately? I'd like to try out the Blue Labels but no way can I pay $60 for a set of strings. :(

International shipping is indeed painful, but there are ways to lessen the blow. I recently had some Blue Labels (great strings IMHO) shipped to the west coast of Canada. I took advantage of the price break Roger gives on a 5-pack and that in turn drops the unit shipping price. Pretty good deal in the end. You then have a choice of keeping them all to yourself, or selling a couple of sets to your buddies.

Thanks for the suggestion. I considered the potential benefits of ordering in bulk - I just need to make sure I prefer the Blues to my current Lo-Riders before committing (selling strings to buddies might not work so well for me).

I was at Club Bass a couple of weeks ago and should have thought to check. I may well send Dave an email. Thanks.

Asking for my Sadowsky Brothers and sisters to help me out here. I am the featured member on my bands fb this week so please go to my bands fb http://www.facebook.com/4playrocks and please leave your best Bass Player comments or Jokes. The coolest thing would be to mention Sadowsky in your comment. Thanks, Mike

Keep them coming. You guys are hilarious. If you cant think of anything funny to say just give a nice Sadowsky comment. I am always trying to open eyes about Sadowsky Basses in Southern Illinois. After all we think they are the Best bang for your buck when it comes to quality instruments or we wouldn't be a member of this forum.
