Club Sadowsky!!!

So im picking up my first Sadowsky this week. Im already thinking that I want to trade out the HC for the SC. Do the singles get the more classic jazz sound or is there not much of a difference? Ive read both. Also, what strings do you guys use on yours? IM looking to not get a too hifi sound, my bass will be ash and maple. I was thinking about the black label nickels.

Trust your own ears......play it with the HC for a few weeks before you do anything.

How flexible (tension-wise) do you like your strings?

Gorgeous bass. Can't wait till my P/J shows up!

I wanted to share my first experience playing my new Metro with you all. I received my RV5 w/ ash body a couple of weeks ago and due to a couple of reasons, just had our bands first practice since then. Plugged in, the tone sounded good but it wasn't until we started into For Whom The Bell Tolls did I realize what I had. The drummer and singer take the first opportunity they had to say how great the tone was. Best described, I haven't heard a full and punchy tone like I heard with the Metro. I love my Laklands playability and perhaps I will get the feel for the Metro like I do with them but combined with my Aguilar TH500 and DB210/115, I've found my sound. Sadowsky's really get through the mix in a wonderful way.

*quick question about pickup height- do metros or Sadowsky's in general have a pretty high bridge pickup? The tone, as I mentioned, is great but I'm not used to the playability of having such a tall pickup. This is compared to my previous Fender US standards and Lakland DJ5s.

If you fret one string at the last fret you should have the same distance from the bottom of the string to the polepiece on both pickups.

That's why the bridge pickup is higher than the neck pickup.

We should have the first two prototypes done within 6 weeks.
No details until Jason gives his approval.

Roger

Roger,

I know details are tba, but can you say if this will be NYC, Metro or both? 4 string and 5 string models?

Thanks!
