Inlays kinda feels like, the punisher meets spiderman. ... not a big fan of it either or the newsted across the 12th... much prefer the signature behind the headstock like a WL.

Are these Jason's personal basses, or protos of the upcoming sig model?
If it's the sig model, then it's clearly designed for a different target audience than the usual Sadowsky player. I see no problem with that... in fact it makes sense.
FWIW: it's not really my thing today, but it might have been when I was younger and rockin' harder.

No. It came from Tully who purchased it from Jason, or so Tully has said. I've got no real proof to back it up unfortunately. I emailed Jason about it but he never got back to me. I doubt Sadowsky would give out information like that to me. It's one of my favorite basses ever so I don't really care either way, but it would be cool if it actually was his and if it was confirmed.
As for the sig model and the target audience, that would be a guy like me. I love Sadowsky, I love Jason, and I can afford it. With those inlays it seems like the target audience would be a 15 year old, if they are indeed on the production model. I would think they wouldn't be but I guess we'll find out soon enough. And no offense meant to Sadowsky or anyone else for that matter. Different strokes for different folks.

Yeah, mine's under 8 lbs for certain. I think it's 7.6 lbs. NYC 5-string. It took a long time to convince myself the Sadowsky "soft/hard" case wasn't empty and that I didn't have to keep checking it.
I'd bet heavily the inlays and surname are for Jason only, or at least optional on new orders.
I'm also a Jason fan (Voivod!) and can afford it, however I wouldn't even think of buying or playing one with those inlays. Actually I prefer the h/c pickups anyway, so just sayin'.

Just recently, both of my pickups have developed a buzz that happens only when I touch the polepieces without touching the strings. Called the shop and they said it's something that happens over time, to take the covers off the pickups and cover the poles with electrical tape. Problem is, I can't seem to get the covers off. The pickups are both Sadowsky, a split P and a humcancelling J. Any suggestions?
Nevermind, I got them off, took a little more effort than I'd anticipated.
It was a non issue before, but on the last show it happened during a quiet part of a song on the pole for the B string (was adjusting the amp with my other hand at the time). It's rare, but it happens.

We have dealers in Japan that commit to small limited runs of Metros. These are the different models you see that I do not distribute in the US. The person selling Metros on eBay is "not authorized" and his prices are absurdly high. Do not buy from him.

Thanks for clarifying this, Roger. Although these limited Metros are nice, we are fortunate to have the NYC shop available to us for our own custom orders!
So I covered the poles with one layer of electrical tape and there's still hum, but now it's also when I touch the pickup covers! To give a visual:
If I'm fretting and playing one note at a time and my hand touches any part of the pickup (or in the case of the B string, is resting on the cover), it hums.
The intensity of the hum varies depending on how many fingers touch the strings.
If I'm muting all the strings with my fretting hand and touching a pickup, there's no hum.
If my hands are not touching anything, there's no hum.
These are both hum canceling pickups which never gave me this problem until now (and I find it odd that both pickups started acting this way at the same time). I recently changed the output jack and it may have started after that, not entirely sure. Should I have used more layers of tape? I've tried taping each pair of poles separately on one pickup and all the poles together on the other pickup; no difference.
I could provide a wiring diagram if necessary to troubleshoot. Help?

Ok, I can officially say now, after about 10 gigs that this is by far the best sounding 5 string Sadowsky I've ever owned.
Hell, might be the best sounding 5 I've ever owned.
Something about that bass through my Aguilar rig.....it just freakin works better than anything I've had before.
Hope this stays and isn't forced into sale by the tax man next year.
(I'm gonna get crushed with taxes next year).
