I dig on that quilt P body J. I hear lots of folks mention Bergantino cabs/heads. Can you give a rough description of the tone?
There's a number of threads on them if you want further detail, so I'll be brief.
Cab 1 is an HDN 112. It's a neo so it's very light (about 28 lbs.). Once broken in, it has the clarity that Bergantinos are known for, and yet it's warm in the low mid area, so it can be a traditional sound. It has an adjustable tweeter that you can dial up or all the way down. It definitely has the ability to have a modern touch on top of the sound. I use it for everything from musicals to small singer/songwriter settings and more.
Cab 2 is the HDN 210, (also neo) which has a ton of punch and is great in a rock setting. I love the sound of it and in comparison to the 112, it's much more even up and down the spectrum.
The real kicker is putting them both together. It's hard for me to even describe it, it's just fantastic for reasonable or high volume rock and roll or other contemporary music.
What to say about the B|Amp? It is the sound of your bass. More than enough power (700W at 4 ohms), and when set flat, it's just got tons of oomph, and great evenness from low to high. But that's just the start. It's uncolored when set that way, but still extremely musical.
It has incredibly flexible EQ with adjustable tone centers, settings where you even out the oddities of each Bergantino cab where DSP is used so there's no need to fiddle with things to adjust for the way the cabinet sounds, you can just use your EQ to get the tone you want. The firmware can be changed to add features in a process that literally takes seconds after download. Jim now has an overdrive selection he is working on that gives you the ability to dial in a tube sound to the amount you desire (it sounds fantastic, I use it for my originals rock band), and he also has a distortion setting as well. Other DSP abilities will likely be on the way. There may be a dozen or more features (tuner, high quality DI, etc.) that I don't want to take the time to go into as they're discussed in detail in other threads.
So, in summary, the amp sounds fantastic out of the box and will have dozens more options in the future.
