Club Sadowsky!!!

Thanks for all the recommendations. The Portabag does look good. Shoulder straps are always useful too. Will see how much they cost to get sent over.
@TedH the newer Gator stuff looks great.
@Fuzzbass the Metros come with a rectangular semi hard case. It is like moulded foam. It is nice and light and quite rigid. But, where it doesn't have back straps it does get the odd knock, when loading or unloading or rushing through doors. I'd rather have a back pack like the Portabag or a completely rigid hard case. Rather than something in between.
Don't get me wrong, the Metro case is very nice, but I don't think it'll last. Unfortunately I just got unlucky and mine has a weak zip and some loose stitching. Otherwise, I don't doubt it's durability.
Looks like the Portabag just got a lot more expensive after last night. :banghead:

Here's what my RV4-WL looks in a Hiscox EBS-STD.

Not sure what the size difference though between my RV4-WL and your MV5, but it'll give you a better idea if you decide to go this route.

Thanks for that. Hiscox is probably gonna be the route I take now.
Btw, I'm a case junkie

+1 for the portabag. I love the dual Mono as well. My least favorite would have to be the hybrid case, but it is still a significant upgrade to a standard gig bag.
I like the look of the Mono. I use one of their straps and that is very nice. I like the 'tick' bags as well.

Looks like the Portabag just got a lot more expensive after last night. :banghead:
The Sadowsky bags are a no go now. I've been told shipping will be at least $250, as it goes off size rather than weight.
The pound sterling has taken a massive hit following today's political travesty...
So I'll be looking at Hiscox, SKB, Mono and all, unfortunately. I would LOVE the Sadowsky case but £170 for shipping isn't doable. Thanks for everyone's help and opinions.

Hey guys, long time member of the Club here, I believe #19. Anyway as many of you know I went thru some very severe hard times and had to sell my basses and amp head. The foreclosure notice was on the door. Anyway, I've been working steady now for a while, selling some other unused stuff (not music related) and about ready to pull the trigger. I'd love to find an MV 5, or a RV5 , maybe a MV4, the metros with the harder Maraudo board in an RV come real close to an MV. Anyway my budget is about 1800 tops, if any of you guys are selling please PM or email before you post. I should be ready to pull the trigger in about two days if a deal I just made comes through. Thanks, THE BURK!

There were a couple on the board for a while in my range, but they both show as sold tonight :(

Cool show last night at Blue Ocean Music Hall in Salisbury, MA.
Danny Klein of J. Geils Band opened up for us. Fun night. One of
the monitor guys knows Roger and he was surprised to see my bass.
He never saw a purple Sadowsky and took some pics of it. I believe he
texted Roger a pic of me with it. This bass will be 4 years old next week!
Wait.....does that mean I'm 4 years older too???

Portabag - I have three of them and they've stood up well. I personally don't like the Sadowsky hard cases very much and feel much more secure using the Portabag. If I have to walk, take the subway, ride the bus, etc. I will use a Mono gig bag.
the hard cases are not tear-drop in shape, they are rectangular, like the G&G you mention.

the portabag is tear-drop in shape

Our New Hard case is fantastic and is teardrop shaped.

I think the shop recently changed this no? I'm pretty sure I saw a post recently of a NBD that was similiar to the case they show in the shop website.

Yes...this is our new hardcase. The body section is replaceable and I have custom inserts made for all of my bodies.

Curious....Did anyone buy a re-issued SA-200?

Production on the SA200 has been delayed due to supplier issues. The first run is designated for dealers in Europe and Japan. I just want to be sure there are no hiccups on the first run before I announce the run designated for the US.
