Club Sadowsky!!!

For those of you that have gone through NYC process, what was your update situation/timeline like? Did you have to check in and ask or did you receive updates unsolicited?

By no means am I irritated or annoyed or whatever, just genuinely curious because I know there's a lot more going on at the shop than just my bass, I don't want to bug Peter or anyone else if there just hasn't been any action on mine.

For reference, I gave my deposit in late December and was told to expect it somewhere in the late September to mid October range. I received pics of the body and neck after Lisa had cut them in the first week of March. Nothing since then. Again (to anyone from the shop who might read this), not upset or anything even close to it, just curious!
Well, I've got two basses in the que right now, and a loooooong way from completion...spring '18. My experience...the shop is extremely accommodating (and genuine friendly responses) each time I've reached out. Based on my last two builds, either Peter or Lisa reached out (unprompted) to give me updates a couple of times during the entire wait. But if you have a specific question (or you're just having "one of those days" thinking about your build)...reach out with an email or phone call...believe me, they "get it!"...;)

I was visiting my son in NYC this past spring, and made a point to stop by and meet everyone at the shop, on my way to back to LaGuardia...a superb ending to my trip! The shop is definitely the "real deal," nice people place...cranking out monster tone weapons!!!

What kevk said. I remember thinking I'd rather the team work on finishing my bass than taking photos.
I think choosing the wood, the raw body and a finished bass would be all the photos anyone would need.

It's been a while and I'm dying for some progress pics, but I don't want to come off as pushy or anything. I realize it's also probable that mine is still a ways down the line.

Email Peter @ Sadowsky dot com and he should be able to help you.

The website appears to be work in motion. Probably get what you want by calling and talking to Peter or Carmine.

Speaking of the website, it's moving along really nicely. We just put up a new homepage and everything behind the scenes has been upgraded. We are still going through it page by page and link by link. If you've got a minute, check it out and let us know if anything is not working or if you can't find something that you are looking for so that we can update it.

I emailed Peter and he was able to get a few quick pictures of the neck, which is in the middle of the spraying process. The body is too, but wasn't available for photos.

A big reason that I'm kinda antsy for progress pics is that I've never seen my color choice on a Sadowsky, so I don't have 5, 10, or 50 "Previously Sold Instruments" to lust over knowing mine will look like that.

The latest update to the website is amazing! (at least on my laptop, didn't translate to my Galaxy phone)

Thanks! The video is only on the desktop version, not mobile, so be sure to check it out on a desktop. And please message me if you see anything that's not quite right. We are working through it page by page to make sure all of the links, etc are updated now that we have our server/loading/speed issues resolved.

Regards the progress/pic, I don't usually ask for them, only when something that me and the shop have to make sure they are right and agree to proceed, applied to both my personal bass and customer's orders... :p

This recent personal build, Lisa sent me pic on the sprayed body, make sure the color is the one I wanted and ask finisher to proceed. The red I want is called Rocket Red, or Road Flare Red to some people.

Look good? Huh?!

When it looks that good 'naked', you know it's going T'B awesome when it's done...

... you know you spend too much time on TalkBass, when your phone auto corrects ' to be' to 'T'B'...
