Club Sadowsky!!!

Yeah, I don’t know. When I pick up my 4 string NYC, there is that breathless moment like stepping into the cockpit of a Lambourgini. The WL5 gives more the sense of a nice tricked out dually. And, I mean, they will both get you down to the grocery store, so...

Thing is, I know a 5 can have more of that Lamborghini feel. My Tobias 5 has that.

I'm an old guitar player with the thumb over the neck habit, and I approach the bass in the same way. Not a very good thing, but it is soooo comfortable that I can't seem to correct it, although I should. SO, I have issues with too thick of a neck, too. I bought a real nice Roscoe 6'er and fell in love with it but I just couldn't do the 6'er neck profile and traded it for a 5'er.

I've picked up and played a 4 string bass, but the neck feels like a guitar's neck and awkward as a bass. Okay! I'm weird!! So what?

I owned an MTD 535 for awhile. The overall tone was too modern for my taste but the asymmetric neck was da bomb. Clearly there isn't much demand for asymmetric neck profiles, as few manufacturers offer them, but I love them.

The necks on my Sadowsky fivers are great, I have no issues. Just sayin' I prefer asymmetry.

I’m with you on the MTD tone, Ken. Not my thing either. My 5 came out of the Hollywood shop around ‘88; and I’ve replaced the electronics with a Pope Preamp. So, it no longer has that Bart vibe.

So, @bucephylus, you kept the Bart pups in the MTD but replaced the pre with a Pope?
Yes, except, it’s a Tobias, not an MTD.

OK, enough heresy. Back to Sadowsky basses...

Oh man, that's beautiful! As much as I love my Sadowsky (and Mike Lull, and Fender, and Tacoma, and...) I've been lusting for an old pre-Nashville Tobias 5'er since I started playing bass...you've got yourself a keeper!
