@Paullee01, I don't think the Express will hurt the high-end models, and the new line may actually help high-end sales, as it will introduce Sadowsky basses to a wider audience, who may then want to "trade up." As long as Sadowsky doesn't dilute its brand with low-quality knockoffs, which it seems to have no intention of doing, I think all will be well.

Oh man, that looks really nice!

When I get the Express I'm probably gonna swap out the guard, and I was thinking either black or red tort. The tort is looking a lot nicer than I originally thought it would!

There is a member here that already has a Metro Express in sage green. He posted it in the other Express thread. It looks amazing. He bought it directly from Japan at $1685 plus shipping/customs.

Yeah, I remember seeing that as well.

The only Express models that currently exist - from my understanding - are at the NYC store for demo purposes.

Mine is a pre-order that is expected to arrive either late June or July.

Lake placid blue is a strong blue, ice blue is significantly paler. Here are pics from the Recently Sold page at sadowsky.com. Both instruments have a satin finish, which will soften the hue as well as feel softer to the touch. Ice blue first, LPB second.

These both look great. I love black pickguards, and I'm thinking the ice-blue would look great with a black one... but that Tort is prettying tempting too.

Those are unreputable dealers. This member has relationships with very good and legit ones. It is a real MetroExpress. Its confirmed as far as I can tell.

The person who bought this bass needs to send it to Roger so he can justify it. If t isn't the guy needs his money back. Sure Roger would not want this to continue.

Reputable dealers in Japan have had a line of Metro Express basses in store for a while. A casual search on Youtube can confirm.

And then there's Dark Lake Placid Blue!



(Sorry, I had to jump in since you all were discussing blues and torts! )

I am digging this combination on my Satin bass (with maple fingerboard). It works well.

But what I cannot get over is how NICE the lighter weight of this Satin bass is due to the chambered body. Granted, I've been dealing with upper-back issues, so it wouldn't be the same (or as dramatic) for most players, but... this bass has been a lifesaver. It's such an joyful experience to play it, everything is just easier. Plus the perfect construction, the sound, etc. I should have bought one earlier. I'm so glad to have it now. The weight issue is so big to me that this bass would be unquestioned full-time #1 no matter what color it was (but I like the blue and tort). I have a beautiful Metro that is an awesome bass, as well as a few other basses, but I may never play them again, the weight thing is such a game changer for me personally. I may not ever need another bass, but if I do, it'll definitely be Satin. Probably a Verdine White model - I don't have a P bass, I love the Satins, and I love Verdine and EW&F.

Will post gig photos of my dark blue beauty once I get some. Our last gig got postponed until the fall due to an ice storm.

That's a good questions.... my understanding was that the Express models will be very specific color and wood combinations.

Like the ones specifically shown here:

But if you can mix & match, that would make things very interesting. Like a black with a maple board, etc...

If not, I love the default combinations anyway.

For now, the MetroExpress basses all just come in the combos above. Having set models/combinations is one way that we are able to keep prices down.

6) Tobacco Burst/Parchment Pickguard

The color/model combos that you see on the website and above exist because we got one bass each in each color to start (and for photos). We will actually be getting a few of each model/color combination in June.
