Congrats on your awesome new bass! Soapbars in the J locations is one of the best sounding Sadowskys out there! :bassist:

Yet another case of 'this Roger guy knows a few things about good bass tone'.

Saving next year (pending all manner of things this year) for a Musicman-5 inspired, @Fuzzbass done influenced me build.

I have worked on so many vintage instruments over the years where the finish on the back of the necks have been completely worn off. They are fine and just as stable as a neck with finish on them. The oils in your skin oil the neck naturally.....but you are always welcome to occasionally add a coat of oil if it makes you feel better.

The biggest issue in staining of the maple where the finish has worn off.

It's called COVID19!!!! I am hoarding what I have left for my instrument production until string production can resume. At that time, Warwick will be distributing the strings worldwide. Part of my downsizing over the next few months is I will no longer have an online store on my website except for my instruments and repair parts.

Without looking up the specs, I am quite sure it is just alder!

Part of me just wants to try it. The HC in my PJ5 does a pretty could 'Jaco thing' when I add in a chorus pedal (which gives it a bit of kick in the mids) but I've always wanted a bit more 'snot' in that tone.

You only get phase cancellation if the P and the J are out of phase!!! Just reverse the phase on one of the pickups!! The only issue with a single coil J with a P is single coil hum from the J!
