Club Sadowsky!!!

After reading about 2 pages about the pan knob I have an easy solution. Stop playing your other brand basses and only play your awesome Sadowsky and you'll simply get used to it! I think it took me 2 days to get it after my first Sadowsky.

Pic for distraction, let's see some awesome Sadowsky basses!

FYI: MetroLine Pickguards are very discounted right now on Sadowsky Sale page. Looks like Roger's liquidating the various MetroLine pickguards they have left at the shop.
Well Fedex managed to screw up my delivery of 2 pickguards :rollno:

System said delivery left on front steps...nope. We have a Ring doorbell, no video of fedex even dropping anything off at the delivery time on the tracking page.
Here’s the funny/dumb thing, I spoke with their CS and gave them the low down the rep told me some one will call me back, they did...I repeated my story, the woman says they’ll put a tracer, if they don’t find it they will send it to claims, ok cool. An hour later my wife is calling me upstairs says fedex is at the door, now I’m happy...I open the door ask the driver, What you got for me?! He says...I’m here for a pickup, a mis-delivered package :banghead: o_O
SMH now, I told no, I’m missing a package, we both looked at each other, I muttered something, closed door, walked away thinking, at least it’s not a bass. Let’s how this ends.

Still waiting on one last(?) NYC in production, but here’s my 4/5. Currently redesigning my Gator 4-bass rack stand to hold 5 (lol-not for ‘gigging’ 5 basses, but use the stand at home, too)

Admiring that VW5, and also noticing that Metro pickguards are on sale, makes me wonder: Has anyone here tried routing a standard MV5 or RV5 and converting it to a PJ configuration, since PJ5 Metros are pretty hard to come by? (I haven't actually looked under the pickguard yet, but I assume it's not already routed for the P option in the neck position...)

I've done that on my TYO WL5 though the new guard was laser cut from scratch. It's a cool sound..

Alright! So my pickguards magically arrived, whom ever received them in error left them on my front door. There’s a few streets in my neighborhood that are named New **** whatever, so the driver was probably confused. Anyway I’m a happy camper. :hyper:

Got some Metro guards today too. :smug:

the highly non-linear situation with passive blending IS very typical, but it's not as bad with vol-vol configs. And not to revive the endless debate over vol-vol vs blend, I just love the convenience of blend, so i put up with its issues.....

"Issues"! I'd thought it was a feature. Rolling to the bass just past the detent is ideal for me.

Thinking of it as a treble/bass tilt works for me.

That is a damn nice rug!

Love studios with carpets like that on the walls. Inspires me to give the home music room that treatment someday.

How does that Roscoe Classic compare to your Sadowsky basses?
They’re seriously all outstanding! These are my keepers...I’ve had more basses, but down to these core 4...eventually 5, with my NYC UV J5 (sc’s) currently in production. The 34” scale Roscoe P4 has a 1-1/2” nut/jazz neck and 19mm bridge, to keep the string spacing similar feel to all my 5-strings (1-7/8” nuts)...

All are set up for different tonal objectives. Roscoe P4 has Sad Black ss 45 rw’s, both the (BR fb) P5 and (maple fb) J5 have Sad Blue Flats 40’s, and Rob Allen has LaBella Black Tapewounds. I’m planning to use Sad Black ss 45 rw’s on my upcoming UV J5...

I wish I was that fancy and have studio space for a carpet like that on a wall. That's actually on the floor of my living room. It was a rare moment when no one was home and I could carefully put the basses down without one of my kids making a cameo appearance.

I’m a bit surprised by the level of intensity in the recent blend knob discussion.

1) Roger has posted his reasons for the shop orientation.

2) Roger has also posted the instructions for the extremely simple and straightforward procedure to switch it around.

So, why is this such a big deal? Maybe I missed something.

I’ve been looking online for the Sadowsky/ Warwick German made basses. The Sadowsky site makes no mention of them, they have some remaining MIJ metro express basses for sale in addition to their nyc custom basses. The Warwick site has no mention of them. I have seen some Warwick/Sadowsky MetroLine basses for sale on Reverb. Do these basses exist anywhere online ? It’s kind of strange that there is no website for these.
