Really nice, little different from the norm with that pickguard. Didn’t look so bad before although I’m sure the beat up parts are hard to see in the pic. Enjoy!
Came home last night and found a box on my doorstep. The MV5 body back from being refinished! It is now black with a clear pickguard. Hard to see in the pic, but when I bought this bass it was pretty beat up. Really fantastic sounding MV5 though! Before and after:

I like it with the mint!I am a fan of the relic’ed look. This was less playing wear and more actual damage. Anyway, I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. MIGHT put the mint guard back on though. Here it is overlay:
I thought you were gonna go for the purple sparkle though![]()

Me too!I would have!![]()

^^This guy torts.Listen buddy, when I 'Tort', and I do ... I always use protection
I think I know of one other sadowsky mm bass (white) out there. What’s your control layout going to be? MM preamps are normally boost/cut. Are you using the boost only sad preamp or a 3rd party preamps. If I didn’t have Roger building me a Musicman 5/MM5 Sadowsky in braz Rw/ash, I’d keep this one as my ‘super fast neck FONK stick’. Notes really leap iff the fretboard on this bass.
Absolutely get the brazilian thing. There’s a sweetness in the highs and note clarity on last 4 notes of the B that is unparalleled IMO. I’ve done some EXTENSIVE field work towards that conclusion and it seems I’m in good company here!
My other ‘why did you EVER get rid of it?’ PJ5 was unchambered ash, bird’s eye maple neck/board. Just aggressive and growly in all the right ways. ‘Punchy’ even.

Oh my, Seafoam green you say? Pickguard? I’m afraid of the weight in that.Pretty much like the bass @Fuzzbass has. That’s the one you’re thinking of. Same pickup/coil switch/layout and yeah, Roger’s pre for the win.
Difference: mine will be seafoam green, matching headstock, unchambered (heavy) ash and Brazilian rosewood.
Dude’s bass/clips haunted me for years.

To clarify again I want whatever my 21 mij Metroexpress is, just not sure what that is called in the drop down menu.
I have a question regarding the body style options on the drop down menu on the Sadowsky order form: I have a MIJ Metroline J that is 21 fret, this is what I want for this build.
The drop down options are:
Full sized J which says 20 fret (not what I want). Options for 21 fret are NYC, so the question is-is an NYC the same body as the Metroline I have?
Thanks
Sweet! Love the clear guard on black!
