No can do...Jonno, you are killin' me with that bass. Stop it!![]()

When I purchased my Sadowsky I did not know it did not have VTC. And I noticed quite a few (if not all) have it. I know it is because my Metro is an early model. Is there a major difference in sound with it? It is not expensive at all but should I do it?

I find it very useful. It cuts highs and give a more traditional "vintage" sound. I actually use it more than the bass/treble controls. Since it's really not that expensive I would add it if it wasn't there.

+1Definitely add the VTC on any of the sadowsky Js.

The reason the VTC is so handy on a Sadowsky is because the Sadowsky preamp is boost-only. Most preamps are boost-cut, where a VTC is still useful because it sounds different than cutting an active control, but it's not as handy as with a boost only preamp.
To be honest I have no use at all for the VTC. I NEVER roll the tone off on a Jazz. But its on there already. I would only add one to your bass if you really felt the need to roll of the highs at any point. Killer basses though. Not only cut through, but have a huge supporting sound to them.
Crazy things can happen too boosting bass and/or treble and using the VTC. It really expands the flexibility on a sadowsky IME.
