Nice to have the answers from the man himself, that is one of the reason I love the brand, when do you have the chance to hear from the builder himself if you have questions?
There are a couple out there but in my book there is nothing like a Sadowsky

Hi all, I have a question for any owner of German made Sadowsky bass (or perhaps Roger himself...).
I currently own 2 MetroLine (along with 2 NYC) and only on one of them (a M5 fretless) inside the electronic compartment, close to each hole for the screw there is installed some kind of "bumper" (I apologize in advance if it is not the correct term in English).
Please see attached image.
Underneath any of the "bumper" there is a spring, so as you can immagine these "bumpers" exert an opposite force towards the plastic cover of the electronic compartment (when the screws are tightened).
So my question is: what are they good for?
Before my M5 from Warwick, I've never seen these "bumpers" in NYC and Metro basses from Japan.

It’s a nice feature! With plates designed like this, simply press down on the plate (opposite hand) with the side edge of your index finger and thumb, while screwing/unscrewing—no resistance pressure is then being exerted on the screw/post.

I usually “pinch”/guide the screwdriver simultaneously, so it won’t slip off the screw and scratch the plate or bass. Letting go, the plate will then “lift” off the bass. When installing the plate, hold the plate area completely down, until the screw is fully inserted.

You actually don't want to screw all the way down as the springs are a bit higher than the threaded screw insert on the ledge. Just screw until it snugs up. I am working with Warwick to set the springs so they are flush with the control plate ledge.

There should be a piece of copper tape running from the inside of the shielded control cavity and up over one of the pop up springs. If you don't have that, please add it.

UPDATE: I just received the update info from Germany Customshop, Super J is no longer available on German builds and like what Roger said, they are keeping the Super J and Super P as proprietary to the NYC Custom shop, I ordered my first one way before this decision made, so my German customshop bass with Super J is gonna be the first and the last one with Super J. Cheers.

So can we send our bass to Mr. Roger and have him install them??

Roger can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the bass itself has to be ordered through the NYC "custom shop" to get those pickups as part of the original spec. They are not being offered as add-ons or upgrades to other Sadowsky models.

Well, I would post more often as I've been part of the 'family' since 2006 when I purchased my NYC J5. My NYC J4 was in 2014 (RS: jelly beans). The sisters.
Trouble is, the only things I've changed/modified in all that time is the strings and batteries. Used to buy different brands like Fender, Fodera, Warwick but nothing else since 2006. Roger's standard specs are way ahead of anything I could come up with or ever need.
So apologies for being a distant cousin. I'll try and post more often.

I agree with this. This is true regardless of whether the coils are side by side or stacked. We do think our soapbars have a great high end in any event. We now offer our stacked J bass pickups with the option of a coil cut switch, so you can switch from humcancelling to true single coil. We could get these made for you in the soapbar covers but you would need to bring it to a good repair person to have the coil cut switch installed.

Thanks for the reply, your first reply was that I can contact Nordstrand to make single coils pups for my Single Cut, so I did and they should be on their way to Holland by now.

Question to the gang as my search function is not doing much. My new addition is a 59 burst with a tort pick guard. Not wanting to raise the ire of the tort gang so I will insert a clever and witty comment from @Spidey2112 (can you help a brother out?) below but, I am wanting to find a replacement colour. Where does one go these days for such items?

Unfortunately the NYC shop sold off the MIJ Metro PG inventory when they reconfigured production. Secondary market only, I think.

Try Quickguards or Pickguard Planet. I'd had luck with both. Quickguards was good with a tracing only. PP theoretically needed the guard itself, but found a template to match my tracing.

Forgive me if this has been asked before... Are your wonderful strings still going to be produced by the same company (or companies) and Warwick will handle the distribution? I've been hoarding them for fear that they'll be changed or discontinued.
