Good choice! Plenty of room for other stuff too. Only downside for me, is it doesn't load from the top. Also, kinda heavy.
Portabag for the win! Two of my TYOs came with those. Just a great design. And much lighter (subjectively) than my Contego - which is now gone. No issues with Mono M80 single or double, but I rarely use them. So there’s that.

The only complaint I have with the Portabag is the backpack straps. For me, the metal pieces at the top dig into my back pretty good. I'm also not fond of the grippy material on them, but I do see how that could be a useful feature. With that, if there was something like the Portabag, but in a dual format, I'd strongly consider it.
My gigs take me far from home and I need to have a backup bass available just in case the fecal matter strikes the oscillating device. I really like the convenience of having a dual case for both basses rather than carrying two separately. Before having my Mono M80 dual repaired, I considered getting a new dual bag. I gave a good strong look at the TKL and Reunion Blues bags, but when told the M80 was repairable for $65, I ditched my search efforts.
The Gator bags look interesting and possible contenders on down the line when the Mono finally gives up the ghost. I wish they'd make that Icon bag in a dual format. Heck, maybe Access will be making a dual (I've seen their former Stage 3, and current Stage 2) along the lines of the Stage 5.

The day I discovered the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]o I was pretty much done with every other case or gig bag. It’s solid & extremely plush. The pockets are huge and include a laptop/iPad sleeve and cable management loops. There are handles everywhere. It comes with a rain cover. It’s very comfortable on the shoulder. It has a lifetime warranty. And best of all, it’s $199. It feels a little lighter than the Portabag, but equally as sturdy/protective. I have one for bass and one for guitar and they both work great.
If I’m being honest, the only reason I carry my Sadowsky in the Portabag is the logo. Shallow, but true

Regarding "grippy": if I'm not rushing out the door I like to flip the straps to the "slippy" side.
I've done the same, but it always seems the other side catches my shirt as I'm going for the dismount. It's some super stuff as it always seems to dang near take my shirt with it.
Well, there's always duct tape. You could use black gaffer tape if you're not into the punk aesthetic.
I had my tech install a new jack and since getting my bass back my battery has been draining as if the bass is constantly plugged in. My tech is away on vacation right now but in the meantime, does anything here look off to those of you familiar with the drop-in Sadowsky preamp wiring?
You should check the ground wires. I had this exact same problem once. Turned out the pickup ground and battery ground were connected via the central grounding connection. The battery ground should only connect to the output jack ground connection.

Wow. I once played a double soapbar WL5 at the NYC shop but was not impressed, and have found love with WL single coils...but that shop axe was plain vanilla compared with your wood mix! Please regale us with tales of the wood cocktail - okume on that body? And - most importantly - how does it sound?

Body is Okume. Top is Cocobolo. Fretboard is Rosewood.
I quite like the sound and feel a lot. The Will Lee is my favorite proportions of all Sadowsky instruments. Soapbars are still very much like the J humcancelling but a bit less open and maybe a little warmer. But still way more open than your typical humbucker.
