You must be referring to the bags that come with the German Metrolines which are terrible. The bags that come with the German Masterbuilts and NYC’s are the same and are substantial and high quality.

Not talking about those. Sorry they are not quite the same. They look almost identical but they are not as good.
Hmm. I have one with a German Masterbuilt and one from Roger with a NYC and they are virtually identical. Neither bend in half.
I guess it didn't actually bend in half (I didn't want to try) but it didn't stay straight and rigid like my portabags do. It started bending (getting a curve) in it the first time I used it and took my bass out. My portabags are still solid and I've had them for years.

It used to be, but as of this past January, Roger said he released the Super-J for Masterbuilts as well. Super-P is still only NYC customs.

Saw three Warwick metrolines up close yesterday. I did not try playing them but I have to say that the finish was slightly disappointing. Two black high polish and I think a blue satin. They all just looked.... dull.....Not at all what I expected having owned two Japan metrolines which are quite stunning in finish. Probably the store did them no favors and no doubt they would sound great but simply did not inspire me to take one off the wall.
Edit: not trying to diss Warwick at all, just an observation based on a single experience. Probably says more about the store than the bass.

Very surprised to hear this.....Warwick does great finish work. Some of the finishes are satin with no shine.
Yes, I agree with you Roger. Just edited my post to reflect that. I think the blue one would have been exactly that, satin with no shine. Just a shame that the store did not give the black ones the polish they no doubt deserved.
I've just finished decorating my home office with the help of a designer, and wanted to have a couple basses hanging on the wall - a 4 and a 5 for quick access to play during the work day plus as art/decoration on the wall.
The designer picked my Transparent Blue NYC Deluxe Satin 4-21 and Lake Placid Blue German Metroline PJ 5-21. Her reason - "They're just the best looking ones you have, and the colors work well together in the room."
