Club Sadowsky!!!

Ok don't beat me up. I'm using a Feder elite 5er and a MM Bongo. I'm thinking about a MetroLine, cant afford a NYC hahah. My question is it that much of a difference from my Fender which is my go to bass.

I have a NYC and a 10 yr-old Metro but I’m currently looking for a 4-string Elite. They’re fantastic basses, in my opinion they’re on par with a nice Metro. I really wish they were still making them.

A beauty. I had one many moons ago, sorry I sold it.

Seems like there is yet another new variant of MetroLine bass on the way. Thomann got something listed called a "MetroLine 21-Fret Vintage M Bass" with a single humbucking pickup. No info on the Warwick page as of yet. Description reads like a Stingray inspired model :)

Just thought I'd let you guys know a friend of mine and monster player has joined the Sadowsky club. Kern Lanar Brantley has been on the Warwick staff for years, but he's played mine and Brandon Rose's Sadowsky's and loves them. He is to, say it lightly, a heavy hitter. He is heading on the road now with the JJ Lin world tour ( an Asian pop star), but he has been Beyonce's MD and bassist, Toured with Lady Gaga, Aliyah (Md). Earl Klugh, Grover Washington Jr, the Winans among others. He just got a Sadowsky thru Warwick for the tour, can't wait to check it out.

Just wanted to drop by to let you guys know I did a gig and the drummer brought a German 24 fret 5 string metroline. I had my own Japanese UV70 in my gig bag but played the German one on the gig.
I’ve owned two satin series NYC in the past and as far as I can recall the German is as good. B string was tight and the bass sounded very even through out the neck.
I’m partial to my UV70. I’m used to how it feels and sounds. The German bass had a tighter B string than my Japanese UV70.

Just checking in to say I’m loving the UV70 I picked up. Weighs a hair over 9lbs and plays like a dream. Still getting to grips with the preamp but I’m finding that the treble boost and VTC are best friends. The bass boost tends to increase the output so I never have it at more than 10-15% (and often don’t use it at all) but so far I like rolling back the VTC anywhere between 60-90% and introducing a little treble. I have the kept the volume dimed and the blend at centre. It came with a fresh pair of nickels but I’m usually a steel player (hi-beams 45-100) so I’m looking forward to getting a set of those on at some point. I welcome any advice. Happy to be in the club

Those are the settings I have been using for years on my Sadowsky basses (I own a jazz and a single cut modern) but Lately I have been trying to play with a bit more with bass treble and less VTC, On my jazz I actually use more treble than VTC and the blend a bit towards the neck pickup and I get a super sweet modern jazz tone
