Also be careful when you change strings the nut is just sitting in there it’s not glued in and will fall out. Ask me how how I know lol

Hah. Just do what I do: change strings one at a time, and clean your fretboard once per decade.

It’s easy to put back the nut, as the strings on a sadowsky run straight, don’t worry.

while removing the strings one by one on a Warwick with JAN2, the nut flew away.

Played three sets with the 5-24 tonight. I’ve used Elixirs exclusively for years. Was thinkin flats might be an excellent swap in. Kicker is…. I’ve got 4 sets of Elixirs sitting on the shelf. And there is some slap tunes required for the set…..what to do….what to do…..

Has anyone owning the new 2023 SMX bass with roasted maple neck swapped out the tuners? I’m wondering if the USA HB6 or the LIC HB6 Ultralites 1/2” are the direct replacements?

I was just talking with Jason at Fretnation.com about this yesterday. He has both the USA and USA licenses in stock and has swapped them out for others who have SMX basses.

Nice! I got my SMX on Thursday. Neck is alot chunkier than any Sadowsky I ever owned. But, still is a great bass!

should be USA ultralites, if Metroline and Metroexpress use the same Sadowsky tuners.

I’m curious….What it is about the Lic version you’re turned off by? I’ve found the ones in my verdine to be completely sufficient…..I did put a D-Tuner on it though, which doesn’t come in a licensed version. But all in all, I’ve found the Lic polished chrome units entirely usable.

I’m sure some of you have seen this on the Sadowsky Facebook page, but for those that didn’t, here it is…..

It was a matte black NYC Satin series.

Looking for some hive-mind problem solving with the Sadowsky SBP-1 Preamp/DI pedal. I've had one of these for over 10 years, fantastic pedal, especially with a passive Jazz Bass. My one is getting a bit tired, scratchy pots which I've cleaned a bunch but are getting pretty loose these days.

So I ordered a new one, and it arrived a couple of days later. Beautiful build quality just like my old one. Sounded great through an amp, but... when I plugged the pedal's XLR into my Focusrite interface in my music room there was a loud hum coming from the XLR, and the amp via the 1/4" jack. Really loud, unusable, and gets louder when you slide the ground switch. My old SBP-1 is totally silent despite its wear.
The hum happens with a 9v battery and no external power, and also with and ac adapter. I've tried two different True Tone 1-Spot ac adapters, and my pedalboard power, and my Noble preamp's pedal power sockets. Different Basses, jack cables, XLR cables, channels inputs on my interface, no change. Swap in my old SBP-1 and totally quiet an normal function.

The retailer promptly sent me a replacement which arrived today, guess what, same problem!

I took it upstairs to my USB powered interface that plugs into my iPad, same hum when the XLR and 1/4" are used together. With the 1/4" output only into an amp, there is no hum. The hum is related to the XLR. I have plugged direct into a power amp and speaker and direct into one of my KRK monitors, multiple Bass amps too, same loud noise.

My old pedal doesn't have this problem, neither does my Tone Hammer DI, Noble, or just a plain old Radial J48, just these two new SBP-1 pedals.
So I'm scratching my head on this, has anyone else have this experience with the newer production of these pedals?
