Club Sadowsky!!!

I think it was Roger who once told me that Will Lee gets as many calls for vox as for bass.

for commercial work, i think.

Love Will's singing... he sings Watching the River Flow on the Steve Gadd Drummers Achievement Awards DVD...

and he has a bunch of funny commercials on his website - [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Nice!

BTW, I didn't know Will Lee could sing! Check this out, singing and playing his Sadowsky! :)

While I'm not a fan of Will's singing, he's made a TON of money singing on commercial's that call for that 'over the top lounge lizard' sort of voice. I believe he did a bunch of Busch and Bud Light commercials through the years. He had clips of many of these commercials on his site for years, but not sure if they are there any more.

However, his background vocals with the Fab Faux are very good IMO!

And man, is Will on top of the beat on that clip. Holy Moly!

Does anyone here know if Sadowsky does custom colors (not talking about air brush art)? I ordered a new bass and I requested a color I didn't find on their website in the archive of sold instruments and although they've answered all my questions about the order, they didn't react regarding my color request...

Also, does anyone here have a bass with Big Singles in 70s J-locations?

i have the fatstacks in the 70s loc on my vj5, and its pretty awesome. nice combo of smooth yet oddly growly, too.

but then i switched to single coil mode, and WOAH. heck, i had the pickups rewired so the default is the "single coil" mode, and DAM, its punchy and aggressive as a mother. lots of growl and feels even thicker. i was thinking about putting in the big singles, but frankly, this is more than enough.

Absolutely.
My requests have given Roger and Kevin some extra gray hairs. Here's one. Sorry it's not a bass but it is a Sadowsky:

its funny how to some "lower line" connotates cheaper. but in the sadowsky case, this just means "better availability".
The real problem is in the negative connotations most folks associate with the phrase "lower line" regarding quality. Roger says the quality should be the same, so that means the reduced price is mainly about a larger and simpler production model based on a limited feature set, and I assume a lower overhead cost at the production site... not quality reduction.

Thanks for the help, guys. JimS, do you happen to have any more pictures of custom finishes like the one on the gu*tar?

I think I obtained one of the first tigers eye bursts, redwood, and spalt maple tops Roger ever did; now they are relatively familiar on TB. I have a translucent green quilt maple which I ordered in 1990. Last year I was ordering an orange supersparkle ultravintage J bass with mint 'guard but I backed out of it.

I try not to post guitar stuff here but since you asked:

Joker,

Just swapped out the Kinman for Lollar Vintage blondes: different; not better.

Sorry for the gu*tar talk.
