....dream bass. :D

Here are the specs...
Full Preamp including VTC
Sadowsky Singles on 70's location
1 7/8 at nut
Bora Blue Burst finish
Flame top and Fretboard as you see

Still don't know it's weight and body wood. I trusted Roger's expertise on this(Maybe Mr Sadowsky could help me here)

Thanks for the good coments!

Time for me to take one for the team...

Of course all I can hear in these tracks are my mistakes, but in the spirit of nenor posting that really cool video of himself playing, maybe some folks here might like these trax. They're just quick/dirty website demo trax for the dance band I'm in, but they were all recorded with my plain jane ash/maple Sadowsky J5. Just slightly favoring the bridge on the pan, dialed the VTC back to about 1/2-3/4 on, to sweeten it up a bit. Man I love the way that bass sits in a mix.

Nice job! Great job of sealing that pocket in. That Sadowsky sounds great.

WOW. (bowing) Awesome, awesome, awesome. Didn't understand a word of it but I loved it! After hearing something like that, it just makes want to sell everything and quit. :hiding:

BluesyCat,
Thanks so much for the comment. Please don't go too far... I can find far better examples (than myself) to make you want to quit.
Don't quit. But if you do, I want this red beauty :D

Hey Vic,
You sound great!
Some very nice parts you have there. I like the disco vibe on the last track. Although disco is not my favorite style of music there is no question it's very bass-challenging.
The bass really shines on "Hot Child", really sounds amazing.
What mistakes?!

What updated pj5 set???
If you notice in this picture, the pole pieces on the P pickup are not diagonal like the current models. That's because Roger switched to a custom Nordstrand set from the set he was using previously (which is what mine originally shipped with). The Metro PJ5 I played at NAMM had the same new Nordstrand pickup set in it and I REALLY dug it. Not that I dislike what's in it, because those are really nice too. I just think the new set is a significant enough improvement it's worth the money. We'll see tho. :)

Thanks for the kind words folks! :)

On the mistakes, I'm mostly talking about time. I like to be right dead on top the bass and snare, so I grit my teeth a bit when I hear a recording of myself where I get loose and defocus the groove. Just being nitpicky about myself. :)

I got dibs on that Vic if you ever sell it!
I wouldn't be too sure about that. Get in line dude. :hiding:

Never sell or quit. :p

LOL :)

That said, there's another red bass that might actually be up for sale at some point...

Everybody just keep your paws off my red NYC beauty! :p
