Club Sadowsky!!!

Rob,

At the risk of having three pages of pup discussion in this thread, can you comment on the Nordies in a J bass pup position's slap tone compared to the Sadowsky HC J, SC J, and soapbars in the J positions?

I had the Nordies in my Modern and while they kille for fingestyle and pick, prefer the Sadowsky soaps for slap.

.

I am talking here about the Nordie Fat Singles or Fat Stacks as I do not use his standard J pickups. The Nordies are throatier---they have an amazing fundamental but are not as bright as our other J pickups.

If you do a bass with Fat Stacks do you install them with the coil tap?

I am thinking of perhaps letting go of my US JO and "trading up" to a new NYC 4 with Fat Stacks or Big Singles in the 70's J position and was wondering.....

Thanks

Rob,
That came out Killer. The top is something else. How does it sound? Joeykun

Guys...To me the Nord Big Singles are loud, Aggressive, and have a little more scoop in the mids than a Std. Single Coil J bass pickup. Just like any Single coil...soloed you will get a bit of hum.
I think our Soapbars in our 24 frets models work great and wouldn't change a thing. Soaps in J Positions reminds me of a P Bass tone.

Rob, that NYC with nordies is killer! I really love that top and the knob layout.

Oh and it was awesome meeting you in the elevator at the shop last week. Now my GF kind of believes in all the "imaginary" people I talk to on TB lol.

Thanks, It was nice meeting you to. I bet you can't wait to get that Metro P.

Hey guys, how do I "join"?
I have just a solitary metro. but I know I not going back
Sad's Forever!!!

Kevin,

1.) Post a Pic of the Metro
2.) Ditch the DR's, and play some strings that sound good! {Kidding.....Or Am I????}

Of course?!
Ah, I didn't notice a separate switch on any of the basses with them on. I take it its on one of the pots! :) Hmmm...GAS rising fast!
Mark, Of course I'm not speaking for Roger, but at least I took him to mean that, since we're talking NYC with custom pickups, you could have that done as another custom option. I'm pretty sure I've seen Sadowsky basses with these pickups and no extra switches.

Mark,

We can either wire it on a Volume Push/Pull pot, or a Toggle Mini switch.
Pretty much your choice.
